My mom insists she'll need it and might buy her one for her birthday. Does your LO have one? Do they use it a lot?

She does! My parents got her a Carolina Craft Table from PBK. She's still a little young to use it, but she likes climbing up on the chairs

I'd love to have one for my LO. They really come in handy around toddler age. DH and I have seen some very nice ones at local Amish farmer's markets.

I have the little table and two chairs from Ikea that has the dog/cat on the chairs. They're white and come in all different colors. Very inexpensive and really adorable. He uses them all the time (we do puzzles and the few arts and crafts we do at home on them) and when kids come over, we pull it into the kitchen for the kids to sit at while the adults sit at the dining table. I've had kids as old as 6 and 7 sit at that table.

I have worked with a lot of different families as a nanny and a small table and chairs has always been a well used item. A lot of times I prefer to set up any art projects there since it is the right size and it is less of a problem if some stray paint or marker lands on the kid's table. They are great to just cover in paper from a large roll and let really little ones go to town.
It is a perfect place for tea parties and playing restaurant with friends and stuffed animals too.
As girls get a little older and use it less I find it is an ideal place to put a doll house, they seem to get more use at eye level then when they are on the floor and often kid's tables are a great height because they can either use it on their knees or use one of the seats.
You can get tables that have two sets of legs too so you can adjust the height depending on the needs of your little one, try Hayneedle and Land of Nod for some options like that.

We also have the Ikea wooden one. I would not recommend plastic as kids will drag it all around the place. We love using ours for art projects.

I want to get a set badly! My LO has just gotten into coloring and I'd love to set her up an area in the living room. Sadly ikea is far far away...
