I always come across the cutest bedrooms and playrooms while browsing Pinterest. However, my kids rooms and our playroom looks nothing like those, their rooms are actually pretty boring with minimal decor. I'm just not good at that kind of thing!

They're definitely decorated, but I wouldn't call them Pinterest-worthy! The playroom pretty consistently looks like a tornado hit it, so I'm not sure why I even bothered with decor.

My baby's nursery is pinterest worthy (in my opinon). We did a lot of his 6 month photos in there because I'm so happy with it. My 3.5 year old's big girl room has really pretty furniture and I bought cute stuff for the walls. But it's always a MESS. Clothes/books/toys strewn about and the bed is always unmade. Our playroom is chaos. And it's right by our front door, when strangers come over they probably wonder if we've been recently robbed

I am simple, frugal & non-crafty so while I think DD's nursery looks nice/cute/put together, I don't think it's thaaaat nice.

Decorated but not necessarily Pinterest worthy, lol.
Playroom has a wall-mounted book rack, and a big chalkboard/magnet board.
Their bedrooms are color coordinated with frames up but that's about it!

@Truth Bombs: I need to see your son's room! And I love your DD's bed.
Ours aren't Pinterest worthy but there are, I think, some cute touches.

My son's room is loosely nautical and I love it. I don't know if it's pinterest worthy, but I will say (embarrassingly) it's the most "done" room in the house. Luckily it translated well to our new house. I agree with @lamaniere: that I would describe his room as having some pretty awesome touches (like a vintage oar).
@jape14's son has a very pinterest-worthy room!!

I think so - at least, my older son does. W's nursery is cute but I don't love it as much as B's room.

Thanks @LBee: for the shout-out! I do think my son has a pinterest-worthy room. I really enjoy home decorating so I had a lot of fun putting it together. You can see some pictures of it here (we've since added a few things to the gallery wall and top of the bookshelf, but close enough): http://boards.hellobee.com/topic/august-14-nurseries/page/5#post-1778421

Nope. The rest of my house isn't Pinterest-worthy either! I'm not a very savvy decorator. I wish I was better at it!

I think it's nice, but no, it's not Pinterest worthy and I'm okay with that.

@youboots: sounds like my kind of theme!
we just moved two months ago after completely gutting the girls' rooms, so i'm just happy to have closet organizers installed!

No, because my son insists on decorating the shelves and surfaces. He puts up his own art on the walls too.
But I love it. I have one of his paintings of a monster truck up in the master, lol.

Nope! It's more of a classroom and it's pretty functional.

Yes! Lol DS room is definitly Pinterest worthy in my opinion since I stalked Pinterest for weeks comeing up with ideas, and then made the whole bed set and most of the art myself! I love decorating and spent months getting that room perfect, lots of sweat and tears(I was pregnant after all) . If I could take a decent picture I would have posted it on Pinterest myself lol, unfortunately I can't take a pic like I can build a shelf
Eta: DS has literally spent 0 nights in that room! At 8 months old he still sleeps in bed with us, so his room is currently being used just for the decor! Ha!

I don't know about Pinterest, but I think our playroom is nice. And I love how DD's room looks

Not Pinterest material at all because it's so cluttered. We are working on decluttering and donating. I basically place the toys in bins when we tidy up.

I was proud of LO1's nursery but it's not Pinterest worthy. LO2 doesn't have a room yet!
@chopsuey: your playroom is beautifully put together!

@chopsuey: you're playroom is so beautiful! You did a great job decorating and setting it up!
I'm too practical and just don't have the talent for home decor. So no, LO's room is not Pinterest worthy but it is organized and clean which makes me happy. Same with her playroom - she has a large area full of fun toys in a well organized space but it is nothing close to Pinterest worthy. I'm ok with it bc having a fun and functional playroom that's easy to clean up is what makes me happy. Of course if I had the time, talent and budget I would want a beautifully decorated house but I'm ok with functional and organized

No, do those really exist? I've never seen anyone IRL with Pinterest worthy rooms.
grapefruit / 4584 posts
No; it's cute and organized, but not Pinterest worthy. We currently rent, so I'm not willing to spend the time and money to make a place that isn't ours perfect. When we move into our forever home, Pinterest is in trouble.....as is my bank account .
honeydew / 7463 posts
@PinkElephant: Exact same! I love my son's room and we get compliments on it, but I don't want to go crazy since we rent and who knows if we'll be here another year or 5 years.
But once we are in our forever home I'll really put in the effort and money!

@Andrea: That is what I thought and then two friends did nurseries straight out of Pinterest. Looking at them all I can think is how much it isn't functional once the baby gets here.
GOLD / wonderful coffee bean / 18478 posts
@Smurfette: LOL. Is everything white, sharp corners, and breakable?
GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts
@Andrea: not white. But shelves full of breakable shit where a mobile baby can get too. No books, bumpers, pillows in the crib, etc.

I think my nursery is borderline pinterest worthy, I did a lot of DYI and it came together nicely. DD1's big girl room isn't quite there but I still love it. I have big dreams for our future playroom, I hope that it comes together like I want, then it would be my first Pinterest room ha.
