I still haven't switched LO (2.5) to a toddler or regular bed because I am afraid of her getting out of her room when I have to work in the morning. DH works some overnights and he gets home around 8:15. LO usually wakes up around 7:45 and she sings in her crib until he gets back.
Does your LO stay put?

Yup! She wakes, calls for us, plays for a bit if we don't hear her immediately. Then she starts screaming.

For a little while he will but sometimes he does get out. Usually he cries for one of us.

I use the onaroo ok to wake owl. It lights up green at 7. Then she says, "mommy its morning, I come out". She's 2 and still in the crib but she won't ask for me earlier than 7 now if she does happen to wake up earlier.

No, but in fairness, I never set that as a rule. I even bought him "stairs" to get in and out of his bed.

She stays in her bed bc we tell her she needs to stay in bed. She got out once around 20 months when she first slept in her toddler bed but I saw her on the monitor and told her she needed to stay in bed and she listened. She got out one time after she moved to a new room and big girl bed but again we told her and she hasn't gotten out since

No, but like @looch, it's not a rule or anything. He just comes and gets in bed with us when he gets up in the morning. He typically lays there for 10 minutes and then asks us to turn on the tv so he can watch cartoons. I figure it's safer to let him get out for times he might be sick or need to potty. I know several people who had kids with difficulty understanding the difference between staying in bed because it was a rule, and being allowed to get up if they needed to go to the bathroom.

Not there yet but my guess is no. We will be keeping the door shut, and then gating it when that stops working! Maybe when he is old enough to remember a rule that hasn't just been explicitly stated, but i don't know that it needs to be a rule...i do want him to stay in his room though, at least until he is old enough that i know he is safe.

yep! she's almost 22 months and in a twin bed but i think she just doesn't know how to get down by herself yet. we have a guardrail on the open side but there is still a gap she could try to climb down from. i put a big comforter in the way tho to prevent her from trying to climb down and she hasn't attempted it yet. right now she just rolls around until we get her. hope it stays that way for a long while!

She did for about a good year! Then she worked up the nerve to leave. Lol!

HAHA absolutely not, the kid doesn't stay in her room/bed for anything. We have to make sure to have all the stuff off the floor picked up/gate to stairs shut so she doesn't fall down in her "drunken" night/early morning stumbling to our room.
