When looking through baby pictures of your LO, do they understand it is them as a baby or do they think it's just another baby? My three year old just grasped the concept so it has been fun showing her baby photo albums!

For the most part...he'll see pictures and say "That's baby Evan!" We talk about how he used to be a little baby, and now he's a big boy, and when baby sister comes home she's going to be little like he used to be, but someday she'll be big like he is now.

She does, and it's hilarious. She always says "DAT'S ME WHEN I WAS A LITTLE TINY BABY!". Everything is always about a 'little tiny baby'. It cracks me up.

She recognizes when a picture is of her, but all other babies are usually ds, lol!

I don't think she recognizes herself in recent pictures as herself yet (she's 18 months), much less from when she was younger. she loooooves looking at pictures, but she usually points other people out and if I ask who's that pointing to her, she doesn;t answer (though if it's me, she says "mama," and same for other people)

My 3 year old understands, but it still seems like it blows her mind a little.
This morning she asked me when she was a baby was she a "girl baby" or a "boy baby".

Yes, we have "baby Emme" on our gallery wall because she wanted to be by "baby Everly" (says our 3 year old.) So her "big" picture on the wall is still her baby picture at her request.

Yes, we have pictures on the wall that she points to and then points to herself and says her name

He does but he doesn't seem too impressed by it. He's more blown away by pictures of DH & me as babies/kids.

Nope! He just points and says "baby!" but when we tell him it's him, he just looks at us like we're crazy. He's 2.

She knows that it is her. She gets really confused when I show her pics of DH and me as kids, though.

At 10.5 months, I have no idea, but she laughs when she sees the picture of her on my phone and she doesn't do it with other baby pictures.

Up to a certain age (7-8 months) they're just pictures of babies. After that, she recognizes that it's her. She started being able to do that around 18 months, I think.

No, he can easily recognise current pics of himself or even ones where he looks vaguely like a toddler, but baby pics are just 'a baby'! He's 21 months.

He does as long as they're fairly recent - he's 21 months and he definitely recognizes the picture on the wall from his 1 year cake smash as him. It's funny because instead of me he says "MY!" when we ask who it is.

At 2.5 she got that they are pictures of her as a baby. But now that DS is here and looks just like she did in the pictures hanging on our wall she gets upset that they are all pictures of him. I think she likes the attention she gets as we explain it to her.

She can tell her baby pictures from her sisters baby pictures which shocks me because DH can't always tell them apart.

DS is 2 and has been recognizing himself in pics for a long time, but only if they're like 9 months plus. If I show him his newborn pics, he just says its a baby.

She does know it's her and loves to look at different albums. What surprises me is that when she sees pics of me as a baby/kid she knows it's me too.

My almost 2 year old doesn't seem to. Sometimes she'll say 'that's me?!' But other times she angrily exclaims 'I'm not a baby'. My 4 year old has gotten it for awhile. I know by 2.5 she liked looking back on her baby pictures.

LO1 understands that he was once a baby, but he thinks most baby pictures are of his brother. LO2 thinks all of the baby pictures are his picture.

They were him until his brother was born. Now they're baby Erwic! Although he is starting to distinguish the difference.
