Most of the clothes we have are in good shape (acceptable handmedowns for LO 2) except for some H&M stuff. We get lots of holes but I don't expect heirloom quality with 3 for $12 basics and $4.95 dresses that get a lot of wear at daycare!

Not really. He has so many clothes that most of them don't get worn that long.

The only thing I think shows wear a lot is dark leggings (navy, black). They fade pretty bad universally. We stick to jeans and jeggings now.

Yep...my son's clothes are pretty much rags by the end of season.

Oh yes, my son's clothes get holes in the knees and stains on his belly, "but they don't put a bib on me at school!"

He has stains on some basic tees he wears regularly, but otherwise they've held up pretty well!

@Boheme: Yes, same here!
All of my son's shirts are in great shape were it not for the stains around the collar area on ALL of them. I've tried stain removers immediately after he eats but he is such a messy eater at 14 months that stain remover is essentially ineffective over the long term. It's frustrating but I'll just be tossing his shirts as he loves into the next sizes.

There's some fading and obvious wear, but they're not in poor condition. Minus the ones where he had blowouts and the stain isn't coming out. I toss those.

Most of his clothing is in pretty good shape. I find the only thing that really starts to show wear is the knees of his pants from crawling. Although, that's probably going to stop now that he's walking everywhere.

Just the hand me down stuff. But even the pieces I bought at consignment look good still.
My wardrobe is another matter.

I'd say from 0 - about 3 years still looked new, even if he started preschool at 2.5 years. Starting at 4 years my oldest started being more rough and had more stains (gotta love oxy stain remover!) and some of his 5 years PJs pants has knee holes. Argh... He slides around the floor a lot. I'll probably sew it up and store it away for his little brother since aside from the holes it's still in good condition. But, overall, since he has SO much clothes from every year most of his clothes still looks pretty new.

@erwoo: yes! What is it about boys and knees?? My DS went thru so many pairs last year because the knee was worn! I was thinking about trying Land's End Iron Knee pants this year!

Everything has paint stains on it. Her winter clothes tend to show wear more, and get bobbles from the tumble dryer.

Yes, she does a number on her clothes and I do a number on them trying to get stains out in the laundry.

Mostly fading. I have tried to combat that by hang drying everything now. We'll see how this batch does.
