I love asparagus, but I hate the way it makes my pee smell! Apparently this is genetic. The funny thing is, Olive's pee smells while Charlie's doesn't! The smell is so strong when I walk into Olive's room, I often this she's pooped but it's just asparagus pee.
Does asparagus affect you? What about cilantro (evidently it tastes like soap to some people!)?

Asparagus sometimes makes my pee smell but honestly, I don't think it smells that bad. I'm wondering how bad it is for other people, but I guess there's really no way of finding that out lol.
I looove cilantro but my mom can't even stand the smell of it!

Yeah, but it doesn't bother me much. DH says his never smells! And cilantro definitely smells (and tastes!) like soap to me.

I never really noticed much until I was eating over a pound of asparagus a day! LO's gets a little stronger but not horrible.
What about red beets? They turn my urine red and I never noticed it growing up since my parents have a burgundy toilet. I thought something was wrong until I realized it was the red beets!

There's a scent, but it isn't strong. Coffee on the other hand has a very strong scent when I pee!!
Cilantro doesn't taste like soap to me.

@Mrs. Bee: I've heard that not only do just some people produce the odor, but only some people can smell it as well!

yup.. and I don't have to eat much at all for it to happen! It's so tasty though.. definitely worth the stinky pee

yup. Livs does not, luckily. I did find out though, that it makes our dog's pee smell too!
