My daycare does it themselves - they do cakes for all the birthdays.

Yes, we can bring in food for parties. They also do a few parties on holidays and ask parents to contribute special food, like they did a Halloween party and a Valentine's party with (healthy-ish) chips and snacks that parents provided. (This makes me laugh since it means my not-quite-two-year-old now has an active party life outside of our family.)

Ours also does not allow any food, but they have a little celebration where the kids all pitch in and make something and present it... The encourage one parent to come in that day to read to the kids and be there for when they give the gift they made.

Yes - you can bring in birthday treats and they do a little party and they also do parties for all the holidays. I love it - the kids have so much fun (even if it seems like there's some kind of celebration every day lol)

Yes, we can bring in food for parties. They can't contain peanuts, but I also ask if there are any allergies in the class. DS1 has egg and tree nut allergies, so I always appreciate if someone else has another allergy to be aware of. Usually Rice Krispie Treats do the trick in avoiding allergies, but are still fun for the kiddos.

Yes, you can celebrate birthdays with a special treat, but they make it clear the daycare party should not substitute parties at home in scale. For LO's first bday I might send oranges and strawberries.

We just sent mini cupcakes yesterday for LO1's 4th. There were no restrictions except cupcakes must be mini cupcakes. As a mom of the classmates I wish the treats were healthier. As the mom of the birthday kid I like the simplicity of store bought cupcakes. We're not having a party this year so I was glad she could celebrate at school.

Nope, nothing. They give a hat and the class sings to the birthday child.

No, but you can bring a favor bag and put it in the kids' cubbies.

You can bring in food but it can't be homemade and must be nut free.

Yes, the school organizes it. They provide a simple store bought cake (so they can control ingredients/food hygiene), have a little party and give the child a small gift. It's very sweet.

No, and I don't think they allow favor bags either. They do arrange some kind of craft for the birthday celebrant, but I'm not even sure if they do it on the day of or they wait until there's a group celebrating roughly in the same month or so. It's different from where I was raised, but I totally respect it.
People seem to be overly concerned about equal treatment here - not all parents have the time/can afford to hand out bags. No one wants anyone to ever feel left out.
