I've worked really hard to get better at this! Pretty sure I don't do this any more... but will have to ask my better half.
Does your SO leave clothes, towels or socks on the floor?

Socks yes, clothes no, but he just spreads them out on the bed! But it's alright, I don't mind putting them away; I usually sniff check to see if his clothes should be washed anyway.

yes, everything
but he also does the dishes and cooks, so can't really complain too too much lol

YESSSSSSSSSSS. in our closet.
I call it his snakeskin.
Because it's in a pile almost always, like POOF he's just magically shed his skin and left a circle of dirty clothes around him.

Yes to clothes and socks. It's not limited to the bedroom. I find them in the bathroom, family room, dining room, and pretty much everywhere.

YES!!! He leaves his dirty clothes NEXT to the hamper. It drives me crazy.... just pick it up?!?! Its right next to you!

Yeeep. I especially hate it when he leaves his wet towel on the floor, or even worse, the bed!

@mrsjyw: Haha, this is me! It looks like the rapture - there's my full outfit sitting in the chair because I tossed it there before bed. LOL.
DH just leave socks around, but only ever one. He leaves them like a little token at every place we visit. I swear, he has stock in Hanes.

Socks and clothes - yes! In fact, he frequently removes his dirty socks while relaxing on the sofa and pushes them down the side of the seat cushion! It drives me crazy!
As for towels..... I have a funny towel story. I have long been shocked by how many times my DH will reuse a towel before he washes it. He hangs it on the banister which runs along the upstairs landing to dry. After around 3/4 weeks or so of use, I sometimes take it upon myself to wash his towel, forcing him to get a clean one out of the cupboard. But mostly, I just leave it....... Well, one day, I washed his towel and, after my shower, put my towel (a different colour) on the banister to dry. The following day, he used my towel. It was no big deal but I had to ask why he had used my towel instead of getting a clean one out of the cupboard - to which he replied that he thought I had put it there for him to use. "Why would I lay a towel out for you to use?" I asked, "I'm not your mother!". To which he replied "Well, you usually do......" Gah! It turns out, he thought I was washing his towel and laying out a fresh one for him every couple of days!!

He doesn't, but I'm guilty of this! I'm the messy one in the relationship. He's a super tidy German.

we both did this from time to time. but since buying our house a few months ago we have both made a conscious effort to pick things up immediately.

Ugh, yes. socks. Every day when he comes in, he takes them off and throws them on the landing.
And there they sit for who knows how long.

All.the.time. it drives me batty! at least it's only in the bedroom and he has finally gotten in the habit of picking everything up twice a week b/c I refuse to be his maid!
@Mamaof2: Just saw the close-up of the note, love it!!

@cherrybee - that's too funny. Does he get new ones now?
DH doesn't really leave his clothes all over, but he does leave his sweaty workout clothes in a pile in the laundry room. Everyone once in awhile, I have to remind him to hang them over the side of the hamper because they make the whole room smell.

@Mamaof2: Did it work!? When I lived with my sister, I'd toss her dirty laundry (LOTS of bras and undies, ugh!) right onto her pillow after I got sick of looking at it for a few days. She learned to hide her dirty clothes in her own room quickly

@Mrs. Polish: EXACTLY what happens at my house, always right in front of the hamper! just a little bit further and it would have made it to the correct stop!

@mrsjyw: AHAHA snakeskin, perf.
DH also sheds his clothes like POOF.
At least he hangs his towel up now.

@Mrs. Polish: ahh! SOOO close to the hamper!!!
@indi: Yep - everything was gone by the next day!

YES!!!!!! OMG!!! So annoying!!!!
@mrsjyw: Great analogy even though I'm absolutely terrified of them! lol

@Cherrybee: that is funny. Honestly I doubt DH would get a fresh towel if I didn't hang new ones up when I wash them.

I'm really bad about this...I get home from work and want to run back downstairs to play with jake and just leave my 'snakeskin' on the floor. Shame on me!

Yes, DH is constantly leaving his socks lay around the house. He leaves them where ever he takes them off. I refuse to pick them up so he eventually has to pick them up and put them in the laundry because he runs out of them. DD will now hand them to him and say "eww dirty socks" but that hasn't really deterred him from the practice.

Yes. I do too though! Every other day or so I pick everything up, sort it, and put it in hampers.
pomelo / 5220 posts
sometimes...mostly he balls up his socks and throws them on the floor. He usually picks them up though so I can't complain too much.
I agree @pui the wet towel anywhere, but especially on the bed -- ugh! Makes me so mad.

No, nothing!!
He's a clean freak and is constantly telling me to pick up after myself.
