Honestly, I'm so thankful to have a baby now because that means that DH can no longer blast the TV on what feels like full volume constantly anymore. He plays talk radio loud in the car also. My ears hurt! I think he needs to get his hearing checked LOL.

Yep! And from day 1 he has played music really loud in the house so DS would get used to noise and we wouldn't have the "shhh don't wake the baby" household. Now DS needs loud noise to fall asleep and I have to blast a cd in the car to get him to pass out when we are driving somewhere. Thanks, DH.

Yes. He has hearing loss so I've learned to accept it.

No, actually. I am usually the one complaining that the TV/Radio is too quiet and he'll barely turn it up lol!

When he's driving alone he plays music crazy loud, but I think it's a part of his de-stressing on his way home from work.

Yes! Lol! I was literally just telling him this in the car not even 5 min. ago... he'll need to learn to adjust the volume lower once baby arrives. I can hear his car radio when he pulls into the garage.

YES and it drives me INSANE. He listens to music through headphones all the time at work and home, so maybe he is going deaf. What bother's me most is that he keeps the volume up no matter what is going on...commercials, loud explosions, screeching etc. I constantly modify the sound, because I like it low.

@pui: Me too! DH always jumps when we get in my car because the radio is always blasting when I start it. Although, I swear it seems louder than I was listening to it prior

No, we've always lived in a quiet house. My parents house on the other hand..... My dad is deaf and never wears his hearing aid. I can't sit in the room and watch tv with him or I get a headache

Only when he's playing video games on the computer. I'm constantly asking him to turn it down because I can hear it through the monitor in the nursery (as in the monitor in the nursery is picking it up--loudly).

OMG! The TV is always blaring and I have to remind the hubby to turn it down because I feel like it's yelling at me. Like normal volume is 14. He listens to it at 24 or more!

YES. It drives me nuts. I love when we put her down and he's watching TV or playing guitar on ear-splitting volume and then wonders why she wont fall asleep. Really?

Yes! It bugs me so much! When he picks me up from work, I can hear the music outside of our car. I prefer to keep the music low so I can hear my surroundings and not have to shout.

yes, he loves music, and apparently the only acceptable volume is LOUD. And since we live in a 1BR there is no way to escape. I tell him that he can listen at whatever volume when I'm not there, but when I'm home it has to be quiet enough that we can have a normal conversation without yelling. Still though, what is the deal with that??

Haha, no actually I'm the one who prefers things louder, but my mom has hearing issues (she had a lot of infections growing up and had something like 6 surgeries on each ear when she was a kid) so I grew up with everything really loud. Now when I go to my parents house and the tv is on, its like you're at the movie theater its so loud! So, I guess I've become accustomed to less loud tv. I still blast the radio in my car though

He actually complains to me that I have the TV too loud! I don't do it on purpose, but if there is outside noise I have a very hard time hearing the TV.

Yes...he likes the tv louder and he listens to music loud in the car. He even talks loud when he gets excited, lol. He has a tiny bit of hearing loss, though, so I'm sure that contributes to all of it. DS has learned to fall asleep fine, despite dh talking loudly in the evenings, lol. It'll be better for ds once we move into a bigger house, lol.

Yes, especially in the morning with the sports radio. I really don't want to listen to 2 guys yelling at each other about sports first thing in the morning.
