DD (19 months) had an epic tantrum when we got back from daycare tonight, and she just could not snap out of it. So we just put her to bed a little early, and she fell right asleep…but she never ate dinner so now I am feeling guilty that she didn't eat!

It's been done in this house too. Not often, but when she refuses to eat dinner, it happens.

If he doesn't eat what I've given him, then yeah, he would go to sleep without dinner.
I would imagine that if he was throwing a continual tantrum - dinner would be skipped! Not as punishment, but because he wouldn't eat?Don't feel guilty! she will be fine from missing one meal
if she's anything like my toddler, she will probably make up for it tomorrow -
sure have. they're usually hungrier the next day.

@Mrs. Pen - yea totally wasn't punishment, she just could not calm down enough to eat / do anything but scream her face off.
I just was reading another thread about how the worst tantrums seem to be when they are sick and she has been sick this week, so hopefully that is the cause.

It has only happened once so far. He started fake gagging in something he didn't want to eat, so he got sent to the corner, no dinner, and then went to bed.

Yup. She was offered dinner and only ate two black beans. two.beans. She was happy as a clam the rest of the night and went to bed fine. She'll probably be hungrier tomorrow, but maybe not. I trust her to regulate her food intake and try not to panic about the fact that she ate two beans for dinner.
if she's anything like my toddler, she will probably make up for it tomorrow
