I'm 36 weeks pregnant, and our dog has been really acting up lately. I don't know if she senses the baby is coming soon, or what, but she isn't acting like herself. She gets into one of the bathroom trashes almost every single day now. Before, she would occasinally get in it if we were gone for awhile or something, but never like this. She got in it today while the hubs was in the shower. She ate some of our laundry the other day. Yes, ate it. And she got into an outside trash bag and had it shredded all over the yard. I don't know what to do about it. We try to put the trashcans where she can't get them when we're gone, or shut the doors, but she's just finding more ways to act out! Any suggestions?

Oh no.... and the baby isn't even here yet! My dog had no clue that LO was coming so imagine his surprise when we leave in the middle of the night with all of our suitcases, he stays with friends and relatives for a few days, and we come back with a little screaming person
Honestly I have no advice other than to pay as much attention to him as you can. Is it harder for you to do so, and walk him as much, since you're so pregnant? We have my mom come over a lot to give him attention and wear him out, seems to help keep him out of trouble.

We're kind of in the same situation...I'm 33 wks and have noticed our dog has gotten a bit crazy. Not quite as mischievious but barks when people walk by our door (we live in a condo) and has started to run to the windows and bark when he sees birds outside. Was talking to my husband about this the other day, and we were wondering if it's because he knows something is 'different' or because he's been cooped up in the apartment all winter. We've started taking him on walks and to the park now that the weather has gotten nicer, and he's gotten better. Maybe that would help?

We have the same issue. Now that baby is almost 3 weeks old we are still having the same issue. She tears up garbages and will do it right in front if us! She always tries to find something to chew...its awful. We have been putting her in the basement at night ti keep her out of everything but it just makes her more hyper later on. : ( we have been trying to walk her more but it doesn't help much. Ugh.

I've been trying to help her get more exercise to let out any anxiety, but she's not really interested. She'll play for a minute and then take her toy and lay down until we go back in the house. It's just so irritating because she knows she's not supposed to do it. As soon as I see it, she's slinking away in the other direction with her tail between her legs. I usually tell her "no no" and give her a swat on her snout (she's a big dog, and doesn't care if you swat her butt). So she know it'll get her punished, and she does it anyways! Grrr! I really hope it resolves once the baby comes and she gets adjusted...

It sounds like she is maybe just looking for attention. Not saying you are not giving her enough, but I’m sure she can sense “something” big is going on, and wants to make sure she is still your girl. Can you spend more time with her – playing, or even just sitting by her and petting her more and snuggling with her? Just so she knows that whatever it is she senses is happening, isn’t something that means she gets left out of her pack?
