I am starting to think about Christmas presents and I was thinking My daughter would like a doll house. Do you have any good recommendations? I was looking at fisher price loving family or calico critters but I am kind of new to the girl toy scene. So far she just plays with her brothers stuff so I am a little lost when it comes to dolls!

The loving family doll house has great reviews! My DD received a plan toys doll house as a gift. It's cool and modern looking, but the only thing I would say is that she would probably be more into it if it were more colorful.

I recently bought a Melissa and Doug Fold and Go doll house for my niece. I have the castle version for my son and love it. It's small and can be easily put away. It comes with a few pieces of furniture and two dolls. My LO likes to put Lego men in his castle. The doll house goes for about $35 on Amazon so it's affordable as well.

I used to dream about this dollhouse when I was still pregnant with DD. But it's so pricey and all the reviews mention how difficult it is to put together. It sure is pretty though.

The fact that the roof is partway open is just genius for being able to maneuver around with furniture and creatures and people. It wasn't cheap, but it has lots of longevity. Ellie's friends still love to play with it (even her older friends who are 8/9 years old).

My little niece has one from Melissa & Doug. It is really cool and she loves it. I've seen Melissa & Doug products on sale for fairly reasonable prices on Amazon. I've also found some of that brand at places like TJ Maxx, Home Goods and Marshall's.

These are great doll houses!! They're certainly all more fancy than ones I had when I was a kid.
We got the Loving Family one for our Christmas tree family a couple years ago and the daughter just loved it.
