My son woke up from his nap on Saturday with a 104.5 fever and his fever stayed in the 103-104 range through Sunday. Yesterday and today his fevers have been in the high 101s-102 range but they do respond to Advil/Tylenol. I didn't give him Advil before his nap today because he didn't have a fever and it had been about 6hrs since his last dose - I was hoping he was feeling better. Nope. He just woke up from his nap with a 104.7 fever. Other symptoms include decreased appetite, a lot of crankiness/fussiness/tears (although sometimes he's laughing and playing and totally fine), inflamed throat, some vomiting (none today though), and today the whites of his eyes are red/pink. He took a strep test on Monday and so far it's been negative.
Also, I woke up on Saturday with a severe sore throat, really runny nose, and a postnatal drip. I thought it was severe allergies but it seems I actually have a bad cold or viral pharyngitis.
Could my son have roseola or does it sound like maybe he has what I have/had but just in a more severe form. So confused. I thought once temperatures start to go down, they generally stay down...but guess I'm wrong?
