I don’t know if this could be what your baby has but I just went to the dermatologist last week because I had similar spots on myself. On the sides of my ribs, underarms, back of knees, upper thighs, and around my waist and hips. I was freaking out at first worried that it was bed bugs or fleas because I only started with a few and then got more and more each day for up to a wk until I finally was able to be seen by a dermatologist. Google was scaring me with scabies and I was freaking out worried that I could pass it to my Dd who still occasionally crawls into my bed in the MOTN. Well the dermatologist said it was a virus called Pityriasis Rosea and being a teacher I probably caught it from a student. She said it’s going around right now. She said the virus is contagious but the rash part is not. And I’m ok if my daughter touches me because I was already contagious before I got the rash and if she were to get it it would’ve already happened before the rash. Anyway sorry for the novel, hope your baby gets well soon.

Doesn't seem like HFM to me. HFM tends to be more blister-like, at least in the two times my daughter had it. Hope it passes soon!
