I've been trying to implement a dream feed but R never latches or sucks. I usually end up waking her, getting a full feed in and then we all go to sleep easily. She usually goes at least 5 hours after that.

Tonight we got to bed early and I tried again. This time, she actually sucked a bit, but not like a regular session. I thought, oh, she got some down, great! Dream feeds work! I don't have to wake her up!

Nope, an hour later, she's crying. Dang it! Okay, no problem, change her, feed her. Go to bed. She's fussy. Okay, rock her more. Go to bed. She's crying. Okay, paci. Go to bed. Crying. Eff! Change her diaper, top her off. She's asleep 2.5 hours after this "dream feed." I'm awake. Blah.

Has anyone been successful dream feeding from the breast?! It seems like too much effort to make a bottle for it. I think I'll just go back to waking her up for that last feeding so I can go to sleep. So much for that early bed time.
