In thought I timed and planned everything perfectly. My LO was in bed at 7:30 did some crying then sleep and I got her at 10:30 to try a dream feed. She stayed asleep the whole time until I put her down in the crib and she instantly woke up and we have to go through the CIO all over again.
What's the trick?

How old is your LO? How long did you hold her before putting her down? I tried o do that with DD and had the same result so I don't have any advice but I can sympathize with you.

Oh no!
I haven't had that issue but a couple times where we had to go back to nursing and then lay her back down but never where she was like wide awake. =/

You might be doing it too early. When I did it I fed at 6:30 and bub was asleep by 7, then dreamfed at 10:30. So there's an extra half hour there.
But, I don't find it really helped with her sleeping, she would be up again by like 4 ish. One night I accidentally fell asleep early and she slept through till 6am after being fed at 6:30 the night before, had a little feed then slept till 9am that morning. That has been her pattern ever since.

I always found that dream feeding backfired on me, or didn't really help. I think it is just another one of those things that is magic for some babies, and useless for others.

I tried the dream feed two times and did not like it so never did it again!
