My little girl turned 10 months last week and I'm dropping a pump session! Woooo hoooo! I exclusively pump and for the last 4-5 months I've been pumping 3 times a day. With DD crawling and trying to walk, it has become harder and harder to entertain her while I pump.. So.. I'm dropping to 2 pump sessions a day!!!
When will you drop your next pump session?

I want to drop two sessions....10/11pm and 5/6am but engorgement bothers me too much!

I'm down to 4x a day. The plan was to drop to 3x once she turns 9 months on the 27th but I'm conflicted. My supply has stayed in tact going from 6x-5x-4x....but I'm pretty sure 3x is going to hurt it irreparably. On one hand I'm totally ready (like right this moment I have to stay up and pump instead of go to sleep) and on the other I'm not ready to give her less milk (she only gets 12oz a day and we supplement the rest).

I dropped all of them 2 days ago. LO has enough frozen milk in the freezer to have a bottle of milk every day until after her first birthday.

@autumnlove: how often do you pump? I still pump @ 10/11 most nights because I don't like my boobs waking me up in the morning.
@DillonLion: I dropped to 3 @ 5 or 6 months and I only lost a few ounces initially.. I think I went from ~34 to 30 oz.. Dropping to 3 was life changing!

@MaisyMay: congratulations! I have enough milk in the freezer to feed DD past her first birthday, but I'm reluctant to give it up because I'm still undecided on how long I want her to have breast milk.. I will be thinking hard these next 2 months!

@LaineysMom: I only pump twice a day right now and I nurse for all feeding sessions. I think I will try to drop the night pump first!

@LaineysMom: I only produce 12 a day...so losing 3oz would be a quarter of my supply!

@DillonLion: I was thinking it would be more % than actual oz.. Each time I cut a session I seem to lose 10%.. Except now that I'm so late in the game my supply has dipped just because.. So, maybe you would only lose an ounce? Who knows though.. I was extremely protective of my supply until recently.. Once I knew we would get to a year I became more reckless..

I lost quite a bit when I dropped to 2. About 18 to about 10. Victim pretty close to trying out 1! I wonder if it will work... I'm. Prepared for it not to.

@Mrs Green Grass: I'm still producing ~22 oz. at 2, but I'm fully prepared for it to go down a lot more.. A little sad, but prepared.. One pump session sounds AMAZING! Let me know how it goes!
