As I may have mentioned, my kid kind of likes Daniel Tiger.

All our closest friends and family know about it because of that. Otherwise I just say it's a cartoon she loves. I don't bother getting into the mr. Rogers connection though.

I feel like a lot of people I talk to know about Daniel Tiger. M just got into it within the last 6 mo or so.

I'd say he's a PBS cartoon spinoff of Mr. Roger's, or just say he's LO's favorite cartoon.

OK, so this thread inspired me to watch about 60 seconds of DT on youtube since I had heard of it but never watched it. We are currently a mostly tv-free household, especially when our toddler is awake.

Cartoon voices are soooooo annoying! I am going to continue to keep this place TV-free. I don't care if it makes my son a social pariah in preschool. I can't listen to it. I can't! I just can't!!!

I haven't heard of DT outside of HB!

I say it's a new, cartoon version of Mr. Roger's Neighborhood. I mean, he puts on the red cardigan and the sneakers. He has a trolley that goes through his neighborhood. They do the real-life visits to places.

My sister and her son (who is 3 months younger than D) watch DT. And I know my other close mom-friend knows who he is. Outside of that, I barely discuss it. But I did just tell my BIL about it, and that's exactly how I described it.
