Once new baby is here, we will have to spend significant time in the car 
as we will be driving and picking up DD from school. I will want to bring baby in to the school to walk DD to her classroom but don't want to lug the infant seat and certainly won't be getting out the stroller for a quick trip like that. What is the easiest carrier to go from carseat to carrying?

I like the sling for popping her in and out.

Depends what you're the most comfortable in! But I think as a newborn, any wrap like thing that you can pre-do and then just pop her in will be great! Whether it's a Moby, K'tan, ring sling, etc. I would say no to SSC for a newborn since you most likely have to use an infant insert or at least rolled up towel so its another step.

I think ring slings or having a Moby/Boba wrap pre-tied would be pretty quick. Honestly, we usually just popped the infant seat into the snap-n-go.

@Torchwood: A sling is just the single swath of fabric that goes diagonally over mums shoulders?
@snowjewelz: Good point, I really need to try a couple out I think! Only used the ergo with DD so this is new territory.
@avivoca: @Alba4: dealing with strollers in and out of the car drove me kind of nuts with DD, but I think I should just try a couple slings/wraps and see which one is the quickest/easiest.

The carrier would be more work in my opinion. Everyone at day care uses the stroller. Blanket over the baby.

@Autumnmama79: FWIW...all the mama's I see at my daycare with a wee one seem to use a snap n go type stroller...I dont see anyone using carriers.
That said...I just got a wcrs I am hoping to have as an option when DD2 arrives and I get to do the dreaded two into daycare! My stroller is also easy to get in and out of the car...

@Autumnmama79: Pick up is such a short amount of time. So to get out of the car, put a carrier one, unbuckle baby, get baby settled in carrier, walk inside, get LO, back at the car in 5 mins, to take baby out of carrier, buckle in the car seat, take off carrier. Verses out of the car, press a button, snap n go stroller is up, click car seat in, walk inside, etc. Plus I think wearing a baby while trying to buckle up your LO in their car seat would be hard.

@Smurfette: Good points! Getting an infant in and out of the carseat can be a serious struggle if I remember correctly.

@Autumnmama79: I also think the stroller would be easier than a carrier. I had a snap and go type stroller, and I can't imagine anything being easier than that.

I agree with the snap n go. The stroller is so lightweight and easy to open. And if the baby was sleeping, there was no way I was going to take him out of the car seat.

I just carry the seat in; it's like a 3 minute walk down the hall and then I can set her seat down. She hates her car seat and so I end up transferring to a carrier for nearly every other trip (grocery store, etc) and I've found getting her back into her car seat to be a pain in the butt, so I don't think I'd do it just for daycare stops. BUT, I like my Boba the best for this type of thing - it's so easy to slip her in & take it off. I don't like having to wrap/wear the Moby when she's not in it.

@Autumnmama79: my newborn loathes the process of getting buckled in to his seat so I would never unbuckle him just to buckle him right back up! Carrying the car seat in to grab his big sister is really no big deal.

@Truth Bombs: this was my thought too, my child hates the process of being buckled into car seat (even now at 11 months) so I carry her in and out because it's not worth a fight rebuckle just to run in for 3 minutes to pick her sister up.

@JoyfulKiwi: The two moms in our preschool class w/ infants do the same. They just carry the bucket in (with the baby in it) and that's it. I found that leaving the baby in the infant seat was much easier than unbuckling, carrying/wearing baby, putting back into the carseat, re-buckling, etc.

I like a ring sling for quick carries, but I hate getting my son in and out of his car seat (and so does he) so I'd probably carry the car seat, at least while baby's still little.

I definitely use infant car seat and Chicco stroller frame for pu and drop-off.

I carried LO inside in her bucket until about 8 months and then just started carrying her in my arms after that. I'd just grab the bucket and go!

I would totally not bother to unbuckle the baby in that scenario! It's worth lugging the infant seat!!

The hive has spoken! I guess I forgot how torturous it can be getting an infant in and out of a carseat. Sometimes I feel like a ftm having such a big age gap lol
