I know that 10-15ish years ago she worked in a shop where she sold all her homemade dolls and accessories (she is wonder woman - she does everything! quilting, sewing etc)
My aunts (her daughters) have tried talking her into opening an etsy shop but I think it's the technology part of an online shop that scares her. She tried facebook and couldn't figure it out lol

Sooooo cute! My mom taught me how to crochet when I was little, but I just started again during my pregnancy. Saving this idea for LO! He is really starting to like different textures so a crocheted animal would be perfect.

@mrs. wagon: thank you :)! I had dreams of doing that as a SAHM but it's not very cost efficient. It definitely takes me more than an 2-3 hours to make them and I don't think anyone would pay more than $10-$20 for one of them.

@sandy: that's not necessarily true, if you buy the animals I linked to (not the pattern) they are $40-$50 for each! People know that yarn is expensive and crocheting takes time. They are so freakin cute!!
@Pipers Mommy: oh really?! What colors are her nursery? I'm still putting LO's together, he is only 3 months old so I never really finished it, which is what I wanted. I wanted to wait and see what our needs are. We're doing lots of colors, navy, green, blue, brown, yellow, grey and white. I have found a few fabrics that tie all the colors together beautifully.
@Zuzu2and11: yeah, my grandma taught me too - I just don't have the patience to crochet!! Maybe when I'm retired like grandma, I'll have so much time I'll pick it up lol

@Coco Bee: This is the bedding set we have, the decals are set up differently but the walls are pretty much identical, I had them color matched at Lowes/Home Depot

@Pipers Mommy: I think we often forget that the nursery is for a child, not us! So i wanted him to have a lot of visual interest and lots of animals for interaction and imaginative play.

@Coco Bee: the ones I make are about 5-10 inches so they are pretty small and they still take me a long time to make and I take a lot of breaks bc crocheting for a more than an hour at a time hurts my hands :). Those ones that you linked to are so much bigger (like a real stuffed animal) and would take me at least a week to make...maybe longer.
