A friend sent me this article today and we thought we would share it here. It's a fascinating article on how to engage your kids during the reading process.

It's called Dialogic Reading: "When most adults share a book with a preschooler, they read and the child listens. In dialogic reading, the adult helps the child become the teller of the story. The adult becomes the listener, the questioner, the audience for the child."

Do you use any of these techniques already? We stop before the end of most sentences that she knows and ones that rhyme to see if she wants to fill in the blank and finish the sentence for us.
