For you IVF gals, do you recall the grade that was given to your embryos? And did those graded embryos produce a beautiful baby for you?
I just had two fresh five-day-embryos transferred yesterday. Doctor said they look great, but when I pushed him for a grade, he said "B." I'm hoping these Bs perform!

I think my clinic gives a number (for the stage) and two letters (one for the inner cell mass which becomes the embryo and another for the trophectoderm cells which becomes the placenta). Our embryos were all 4AB or 4AA (day 5 blastocysts). I couldn't have a fresh transfer because I had OHSS and we had 6 blastocysts frozen. Interestingly they don't separate the embryos when they freeze them (at least at our clinic unless you're having PGS/PGD) so I'm not sure what grade we actually had transferred for our FET. I'm now almost 25 weeks pregnant after a single embryo FET

My top graded embryos didn't take, but my B grade embryos are now almost 3 years old:)

I transferred two 3AA embryos and am expecting one baby. I wouldn't worry too much about the grade though. I know women who transferred embryos graded BC or CC that became babies.

I just transferred a BBB embryo and was upset as well that it wasn't an A! But it seems like everything I've read says it doesn't really matter, excellent eggs fail and poor eggs turn into babies! Also I think every RE has different grading protocols.

@agold: fresh transfer. I'm not on bed rest, just light activity only, thankfully I don't have a stressful job I'm also still really bloated and somewhat sore from the ER. Are you going to test or wait for betas? I hope we see each other on the June boards!

@MrsKRB: I'm sorry you are still feeling bloated. That's tough. I actually never felt bloated and the pain subsided after a few days. Did you do a 3- or 5-day transfer? And no, I don't plan to test. I'm trying my best to consider myself pregnant until proven otherwise and I want to ride this out as long as I can. My blood test is scheduled for October 2. What do you plan to do?

@agold: 5 day. I felt really good until the day after the retrieval, but no one told me to drink Gatorade and eat a lot of salt, so I'm retaining some fluid 
my blood test is the 30th, I'd like to say I'm going to wait, but I probably won't. Good luck!!

I had 2 AA transfered and both stuck initially, but lost one at 9 weeks, I have a beautiful baby girl from that cycle.

My embryos sucked, but one turned into a beautiful son and another is cooking at 23 weeks. They were both early blastocysts so I don't think they even got a grade. I think ours are just slow to develop!

@raintreebee: Thank you for telling me this!!!! The doctor said the two I transferred were pre-blast. 
I'm praying mine turn out like yours. Did you just transfer one each time? How many embryos did you end up with total?

@agold: My first IVF I transferred 1 4AA blast. Nothing. My second, I transferred two early blasts. One took. That one is my adorable 19 month old. My third IVF, I transferred one early blast. It is now my 23 week old fetus. I have three from that cycle in the freezer, all early blasts on day 5. Good luck!!!

@raintreebee: Did your doctor tell you that your embryos sucked? I'm still slightly upset over my embryos and am wondering if my doctor would have told me "your embryos aren't too great" or would he just be cheerful about it no matter what. I'm looking for pictures online that could look anything remotely like my embryos and I can't find any.

Not in so many words, but the first time my doctor definitely told me my chances were lower because they were early blasts. And this past cycle, one of the doctors tried to convince us to put two in because they didn't look very good. I was like, no f'ing way am I having two newborns unless you volunteer to help us for three months. But I also had some faith at that point since my son was an early blast.

The embryos that we transferred were AA and either BB or BC (can't remember what they said). Both are now my 2 week old twins.
I was worried about grading, too, but throughout my pregnancy I was trying to be positive but mentally I was waiting for the shoe to drop. There are so many factors to having a baby that I'm not sure if anyone in the medical field could determine if it was due to one thing. I had a bunch of (I would say) minor complications. I didn't really blame anything. With IF, I knew it was sorta out of my power and if I had one baby, I would be so so happy. To get both babies is an absolute miracle.
