I read this today. In the past I felt like it was the same as using baby food jars.

We recycle and compost and mostly cloth diaper so a pouch and a k-cup a day does not make me feel too bad. Our trash bin is tiny and we recycle 4x more than we throw away based on the size of our cans. Can't win them all.

I wonder if this is true for the clear plastic ones that just came out. It seems like those only have one layer.

@pachamama: I mostly used them for yogurt and applesauce but you could always pour glass bottle baby food in them!

I'm glad people are talking about this and I hope baby food companies are pressured to design better packaging-- but I'm still using them.

@Foodnerd81: yea i'm a big fan of throwing money at problems lol. But also my daughter just doesn't eat as well without a pouch. We use them far less now that she is 3. But being able to throw a 75 calorie snack in my bag that she will actually EAT when we have a long day at the zoo or something? its valuable to me.
