I don't bake, but am responsible for bringing 48 home made cookies to a cookie swap tomorrow. This recipe says the cookies have to set for a day or two to be tasty. If I go get all the ingredients now and finish the last batch by 11 pm. How do I speed up the setting? Inside the fridge? On the counter in a foil pan?

People won't be eating them right away though, right? Just include a note in your packaging that they need another 24 hours to set for maximum deliciousness.

@Mrs. Lemon-Lime: Do you have the option of making another cookie recipe instead so you don't have to worry?
ETA: I think I missed the part where they have to set, it looks like they just have to be refrigerated for 2-3 hours.

@Boogs: yeah, I saw that after my 11 pm bright idea. New game plan. Make the batter. Go to bed. Create the balls at 5 am and refrigerate them until party time.
I'm stuck on the baking aisle looking for cocoa powder.

Skip it. Go to the refrigerated section, buy peanut butter cookie dough. Roll balls of it in sugar, bake, and when they come out press a chocolate kiss in the middle of each while hot. Nobody will know you bought the dough.

I second what MrsSRS said. Look on Pillsbury's site and just go for one of the recipe ideas with the refrigerated dough.

Sugar cookie dough works too if you want to avoid peanuts. Just roll in a ball, bake, and press a kiss (any flavor) in while still hot.
