I'm 6 weeks postpartum and recovery is rough! Even though it was only a second degree tear, I tore in 3 lengths from perineum to cervix. Ouch! It's been tough, and taking much longer than I ever anticipated. I still can't go for walks without paying the price later. I'm still having some pelvic floor pain and heaviness (particularly after bowel movements) and at my appointment my midwife prescribed Estrogen because my healing from the stitches is looking rough. Does anyone have experience with estrogen cream? Did it help? How so? Did it hurt your milk supply?

Sigh. I'm wondering if anyone has a similar experience with slow recovery and words of encouragement that it gets better. I feel like I'll never be the same. Sexual activity feels like it's months away at this point. Exercise feels like it's not happening soon. My muscles are starting to atrophy. I feel like I'm wearing a heavy diaper and my insides are falling out whenever I have to stand 5-10 minutes. I do my kegels. I'm also looking to get a pelvic floor pt appointment. I've got six weeks left in maternity leave and I'm starting to worry I won't feel better by the end. I had no idea an otherwise normal vaginal birth recovery would take so long!
