I bought a cheap pregnancy test (88 cents at Walmart) and tested in the afternoon. I'm still EBF my almost 5 month old so I'm pretty sure it's a BFN but i've been feeling off lately and tested. It was a super white BFN. Well, before bed i noticed there was a second line. I'm waiting until Friday to test again, but just wondering if anyone has any experience. The line doesn't look purple but I've left tests over night and woke up to only one line....ahhhh. Thanks.

Can you post a pink? If the line was pink, it's probably not evap!

In my experience it's led to an early BFP for me... but hard to say without a photo!!

I've heard blue dye tests can be prone to evap lines. Maybe wait and retest?

I had an evap line on a cheapie test- I think it was the dollar store type, but could have been wondfo. We were ttc so I got really excited. Now I wait ten minutes and wrap the test up and throw it out!

I've personally never seen an evap line, and any line I've gotten, no matter how light, has turned into a BFP for me. But again, that's my personal experience, I know others have seen evaps.

If you tested in the afternoon and looked at it again before bed, the test is no good, anyways. You really have to look at it within the time window.

I had a not-so-early early bfp for my younger daughter that showed up outside the time window, but more like 10 minutes had elapsed in my case. I'd say retest! Hope the result is what you want it to be

I was hoping evap lines weren't a real thing and everyone would say "yay, you're pregnant". Boo. I'm waiting for Friday to retest, but I took apart the test to see if the line was real and threw it out without a picture. I googled for evap lines and I think it's what I got. I thought we were done at two kids but I think after this I know for sure I want one more. Just one more
we'll probably have to wait until LO weans (no hurries....yet) thanks everyone. I'll still update when I retest just to confirm -
@hellocupcake: With both of my girls, I had very suspicious "evaps" on 9dpo. They were VERY clear BFPs by the next morning, so if it was a legit early bfp, you don't have to wait until Friday...You could retest asap and should know the true outcome. Hcg multiplies so rapidly, it doesn't take long for it to go from a super light "evap" to a real-deal line. Good luck!

@hellocupcake: With my first, I took a test at 13 DPO and it was stark white negative within the time frame. I threw the test away and didn't think of it again until about five hours later when I decided to pull it out of the bin and saw the faintest of faint lines. I chalked it up to evap but two days later, with AF now one day late, I tested again, and sure enough BFP!

I guess we'll have to wait until we wean to ttc again. I guess no hurry since LO is only 5 months old, but it would have been an awesome surprise
