I understand where you are coming from, I feel like I'm such a researcher, planner, ect. that I know a lot on different topics regarding babies. Some people look at me like I'm crazy when I mentioned something or put in my two cents since I'm a new mom, almost like they don't believe me.

Yes. Sometimes a new mom friend will be talking about something, and I want to give her my (better, in my mind) opinion and then I remember-- I read about it on the internet, she lived it. Shut your mouth. Or, I listen and then think that I know better anyway and ignore their advice.

Yes...I spend way too much time reading about EVERYTHING in the whole process...TTC, pregnancy, labor, postpartum and of course caring for a baby. I know too much. It's part of my control freak nature, I think.

YES. I work at a small pre-k school (3 classrooms) and everyone knows about my prior m/c and that we were trying. Now that 3 of us are pregnant and due within 2 weeks of each other, they other 2 ask me questions all the time because they know how much I research ttc/pregnancy. My coworker sent me a pic of her BFP one morning so I could check it out haha

I feel like I researched everything, read every book, took every class, when I was pregnant with DS. I live in a very attachment parenting environment. Lots of breastfeeding resources, natural healing centers, pro-babywearing/natural birthing/cloth diapering, etc. I had lots of info & help at my fingertips.

Then DS was born and threw me for a total loop! haha

Hahaha, yes!! I'm 36 weeks and when my cousin announced her pregnancy about a month ago and asked me for some advice, I think I completely overwhelmed her! DH actually told her that she would be totally fine to NOT know all the stuff I told her and that I'm a compulsive over-researcher. I don't have a lot of real life friends with babies though, so how else am I supposed to learn?

sometimes i feel like a weirdo for knowing so much but alas it is just my nature to read about everything! i can't help it! it is like a compulsion!

I'm still a year or more out from even starting to TTC, but I still look at HB almost every day. I've already learned a ton and feel like it will help me be more prepared when the time does come, but i also feel half-crazy for doing it. Luckily my DH doesn't think i'm crazy yet, and he likes that i'm getting informed. But it does seem to add to the baby fever

I did before we got pregnant. We tried for 15 months before BFP, but I had been researching pretty actively for about 9-12 months prior, so a solid 2 years of prep. I don't regret it in some ways because I feel like I learned a lot which helps now when I don't have a ton of time. At the same time, it was painful because it took us a while to get pregnant.
