Hi, wondering if anyone on here has tried the Elvie/Willow/Freemie style pumps. A friend just went back to work with an Elvie and raves about how great it is—apparently it’s discreet enough that she’s able to pump at her desk while working. From what she says it sounds ideal, but I’m looking to get some other opinions. Thanks!

I used freemie cups with my Madeline Pump in Style. I'm large chested so depending on my shirt you could definitely tell something was in my shirt.
Otherwise it worked well. It was a bit of a trick getting them out if they were really full, but as long as you were somewhere you could pull your shirt up to get them out without flashing the whole office you're good.
And DON'T lean forward with them in to pick your pen up off the floor 🤦♀️

@Sams Mom: Thanks for the info. I share an office with one other person, so I'd probably do the on/off process in the bathroom or maybe at my desk (we sit back to back). Also, I could totally see myself leaning forward to pick something up and spilling milk, too!

@karenbme: I used freemie and liked it. It wasn’t un-noticeable but i likes being covered and it was very easy to pump in the car. So basically people still knew I was pumping but my boobs weren’t out

I bought Elvie hoping I could use it when I got stuck in a surgical case and couldn't take a real pump break. They didn't work out for me because the standby battery life was only a couple days. It would be handy to use them once every couple/few weeks, and needing to charge them every other day to use them every few weeks wasn't worth it. I resold mine.
I still have and occasionally use Freemies when I need to pump in loud but public places (like on metro, train, plane) or in a meeting where no one cares that I'm pumping but I'd rather not be exposed. I can't use them for patient care because the sound of my pump is so loud.

Updating in case someone is reading in the future: the Elvie also didn’t work out for me. I have a forceful let down and it kept backing up and milk would leak out the face when it couldn’t go down through the valve. There’s no way I could use it in public because I have to turn it off and let the milk drain frequently, then turn it on again. I also have the freemie and like that better, even if the pump is a little noisier and the battery life isn’t great. When I’m home I use the cups with my Spectra S1, and get more milk than with the Spectra parts.
I do have a friend who swears by the Elvie, but I would tell people not to waste their money. The Freemie I would say is worth it, though.
