I would not lose hope. So much of it is random, despite grading. At 31, I did Ivf and transferred two fantastic day 3 embryos, one of which resulted in my son. We then froze three high quality blasts and none of them took.

At 33 I did another fresh IVF and they actually did a freeze all at day 3 because they all looked "average at best" and we debated whether to scrape them all and try over or give them a try. We decided to go ahead and use the day 3 embryos for an FET, transferred two and one resulted in my second son.

So all that to say, my older, less good quality frozen guys did better than my grade A blasts.

@mopeybuthopey: I’m sorry to hear about the failed FET. It’s so frustrating and disappointing.

My first ever cycle I was 32. I have a balanced translocation so I have to do PGD. We had 13 retrieved and 8 made it to PGD testing (day 5s). Only ONE was chromosomally normal and he is my now 3yo son. Nothing to freeze.
Last year (Sept 2016) we decided to try for #2 and had to do a new retrival. I was newly 35 and I’m not going to lie, it was way harder this time. My AMH plummeted and despite being on very high doses of meds, I barely responded. We went ahead with retrival and ended up with 8 eggs (which is way more than they even expected based on my monitoring ultrasounds) I think only 2 made it to day 5 (I’d have to check records to confirm) and none were normal. Kinda expected since my odds are 1/8 tested will be normal. If they only test 2 then that’s not even enough to meet my odds.
Next retrieval they tweaked meds and still didn’t respond well. Ended up with 6 retrieved and 5 made it to day 5 for PGD testing. All of those were abnormal.
At this point my RE suggested donor eggs. But I just wasn’t ready for that yet. We decided on one more round. At that point we had tested 7 embryos and my husband said “we’ve tested 7 when our odds are 1/8. We need to at least give the odds a chance and do one more round.”
They basically gave me the meds for a premenopausal woman, lol. But...IT WORKED! 17 retrieved (I WAS IN SHOCK) and 2 were normal!
I’m now 17 weeks pregnant with one of them and we have one frozen. But we are very unsure what we’ll do with that one.

All this to say - it very well may be harder at 35 than 31, but it doesn’t mean it can’t happen. Have you considered PGD testing? It really can take the guesswork out of it and help to increase your odds. It is more money, of course, but if it reduces the need for future rounds it can actually be cost effective. Or save you precious time and heartache transferring embryos that never really had a chance because they are abnormal. Instead you can move on quickly and decide another round or throw in the towel.

No tips, just an 'I'm sorry you are going through this' post

Based on what you've shared I would think that doing another round has a pretty good shot of being successful, however with all this infertility stuff it's impossible to know. You might get even more "good" ones this time.

I will just put this out there about myself, I was told by our RE that it was pretty much impossible for me to conceive naturally, we did treatments and then gave up. (just got to be too much for me). I ended up conceiving naturally. So I feel like you are in a good spot if you decide to do another round. You had success before.
