Can anyone point me towards one that they have and love? Or even have, and don't love?
Thanks!!

We got one at Home Depot a few years ago during a Black Friday sale. It doesn't seem to exist anymore online, but it's the Martha Stewart Living brand, 9ft tall and pre-lit with both clear and colored lights (you can switch between the two). We love it! I would highly recommend getting one that's pre-lit - there are few things in life I find more tedious than trying to put lights on a Christmas tree.

We've gotten 2 from Target and have been very pleased with the quality/value. We've had the first 4 years now and the newer one only 1 year.

Definitely get pre-lit! I like the ones labeled “cashmere pine”, they aren’t the super dark green fake color and the needles are lush and fluffy. I’ve seen them at target and sears!

Similar to @elljay: , we got ours at Lowe's, it's pre lit, and you can switch between clear and colored lighting which I absolutely love. I don't know the brand name because we are away for the weekend but if I remember I will look it up when we get home. We bought it on Black Friday.

Frontgate has the most GORGEOUS fake trees. I spent a weekend at a friend’s house thinking it was real the whole time until she told me it wasn’t. I even touched it and thought it was real! She had a plug in or something for the pine scent, lol. Her MIL got them one as a housewarming gift one year (they moved in around Christmas) but holy hell they are expensive. Like $500-1,000+. It’s on my wish list for when we have our forever home someday (currently in an apartment with no storage).

If you look closely the description of them have a "tip count" which describes the number of tips on all the branches. This will help indicate how "full" the tree appears.

This is very similar to the one we have and love it. Ours is 3 years old now so they dont have the exact same one. ours is just a bit fatter. They are so easy to put together and look amazing.

I got a narrow one from Target for under $20 and it's amazing! I don't like pre-lit because what if/when the bulbs are out?

We have this one and it's pretty, easy to assemble, etc. It's not longer available but maybe they will come out with something similar this year?

We got a Balsam Hill tree when we had to replace ours last year. They're so beautiful - https://www.balsamhill.com/

@Mrs. High Heels: When we decide we're giving up on fresh trees I am 100% all in on the Balsam Hill ones. How do you like it? Do you have any pics?

@skiierchck99: Ah, unfortunately I don't have any pics and it's stored away right now! We got a slimmer 6.5" tall one because we don't have a lot of living room space, but the quality is so nice and it really fluffs up beautifully. I love it and can't wait to put it up this year.

@Mrs. High Heels: Good to hear from someone that they're actually high quality IRL! We did a real tree for the first time last year after having various cheapo fake ones over the years...and it was SUCH. A. PAIN. I don't think we even had it that long but when we took it out it looked like tree murder had occurred...down all the stairs of our 4th floor walk-up DH likes the idea of the real tree for kids but I don't know how long that's gonna last...

@Mrs. High Heels: Those really do look beautiful but $$$$ Almost triple the Costco one I'm looking at for something similar. Its so hard to know/understand if the quality is really that much better? (tip count Costco 5700 vs BH 4300 but lights are BH 1260 vs Costco 840). Both have the multi color lights that can be white or colored.

@skiierchck99: I love the smell and look of real trees, and I'm sure it's fun to go and pick one out as a tradition, but I don't think I can handle the maintenance and I think it would kill my allergies... but I grew up with real trees and there is something special about it that fake trees can't replicate.
@T.H.O.U.: I got it at a post-Christmas sale last year so about half off what the site is showing now, and really wanted something quality. I saw the Costco ones when I went to Costco over the weekend and they seem comparable! You can't go wrong with Costco.

@skiierchck99: this is my Balsam Hill pre-lit 9ft slim (52” diameter). Everyone asks if it’s real even after touching it.

@T.H.O.U.: Will have to make a trip to a Costco to check one out! Thanks for the intel : )

We have this tree and it’s amazing - http://www.homedepot.com/p/GE-7-5-ft-Just-Cut-Ez-Light-Norway-Spruce-C3-Dual-Color-17167HD/301573984
I really wanted one of those super expensive balsam Hill trees, but just couldn’t pull he trigger on spending $1k for a comparable tree from them. I can’t even imagine one of those trees looking better. Definitely not $600+ better. It’s really full, which I wanted, and has realistic looking branches and dual LED lights.

@Mrs. High Heels: ooh thanks for the heads up. We have our old one still that we could use for another year I'm just not sure I want to!! @Mrs. Lemon-Lime: so pretty! @skiierchck99: I may just go for it because the thought of hanging lights again sounds horrible. It's an all day ordeal.
wonderful clementine / 24134 posts
@Mrs. Lemon-Lime: I actually think that's the one I was looking at. We are thinking of doing the 9' slim. The other ones are so much floor space!
blogger / eggplant / 11551 posts
@T.H.O.U.: I know what you mean! Last year, half the lights on our old tree were dead, but we put it up anyway haha. Somehow it looked ok after we put up all the ornaments and just made it work. But I'm super excited to decorate the tree this year. The balsam hill trees come with handling gloves and a tree storage bag too.
@Mrs. Lemon-Lime: Sooo pretty... and I love all those pretty giant ornaments too! I know it looks and feels like a real tree.
@ShootingStar: I wish we had space for a big, full tree like that! The tree I got is shorter and slim so more like $200 than $1k, but yea I'd have a hard time justifying $1k too.
wonderful pea / 17279 posts
@T.H.O.U.: yes, the “full” is huge. We debated long and hard, but ultimately I didn’t want the tree to overtake the room. In our new house the tree is going in the dining room and the slim is even better here. @Mrs. High Heels: thank you!

@SweetiePie: we got our tree from frontgate on clearance. Full price was $1,000 and we paid $350 including shipping. It is gorgeous and everyone admires it. Check their online clearance section, especially after Christmas
A tip : SAVE THE BOX!!! nothing else is as good for storage
wonderful pea / 17279 posts
@ShootingStar: your tree looks really nice. I swear we do not have a corner in our house like yours that works for a Christmas tree. Do you have to move things around to accommodate your tree? The one year we put a trip up (pics) above we move the living room sofa & coffee table half a foot just to get more access to three sides of the tree.
coconut / 8472 posts
@Mrs. Lemon-Lime: thank you! We didn’t have to move things in the past. We have an oddly large living room and we’ve struggled with how to fill the room with furniture. At one point the wall just had a cabinet that was way too small for it. This past year though we bought a chair and a lamp for that spot so those things will have to move.
