@Mrs. High Heels: haha i bought the gel things specifically for lo to play with. He thought they would be delicious. They went directly in the trash 5 minutes later.

@Mrs. Lion: hahaa, J kept putting them in his mouth too - I think he thought they were gummies! And he loved squishing them and pulling them until they snapped apart... and refused to pry open his fists when I tried to take them away.

We have our formal living room gated off so I do my usual stuff in there. I pretty much did my regular decorations every where else I just had to get a little more creative with placement, putting things higher. I got some velvet pumpkins that I put somewhere she can reach since she can't hurt them or herself. She's very interested but she's usually good as long as there's some things I do let her touch. I do hope we don't have to gate the Christmas trees but we'll see!

Someone please leave step by step instructions on how to gate a Christmas tree lol. Out Lo will be 14 months come December and she's into/climbing/destroying everything!

I'm putting decorations on top of our bookshelves/mantel and a wreath on the door. I have no idea what we'll do about a Christmas tree this year. DD pretty much left it alone last year at 12 months, but I have less faith that she will this year.

@mediagirl: that's amazing! How does it stay up?

I tried putting fake pumpkins and pumpkin luminaries near the window and DD kept gathering them and arranging them on the couch. They're mostly ceramic. My floors are tiled downstairs. I'll need new ones by next year

@Mrs. High Heels: omg yes. They got sooooo nasty within a day.

@rattles: @MamaPhoenix: it's meant to be a fence outside and it has a pretty secure binding around it. It bends forward and back but it hasn't fallen over yet. Our 18 month old (last Christmas) just ignored it completely!

@Mrs. Yoyo: 2 feet, I think. I used a 15ft rolled picket border fence.

My son, who touches EVERYTHING couldn't be bothered with my decorations. This year, we're doing funkins in the house, I don't usually decorate outside.
