So glad someone started this! I'm in a fantasy funk: 0-2. I thought I had a pretty good team, but both weeks it's just been blah. Not sure if it's bad luck or if I need to do some major tinkering (for example I'm tempted to drop my backup QB and get another RB). I'm all ears!!

    QB: Andrew Luck, Sam Bradford*
RB: DeMarco Murray, Justin Forsett, Doug Martin*, Jonathan Stewart*
WR: Larry Fitzgerald, Mike Evans, Terrance Williams, Golden Tate*, Kendall Wright*
    TE: Jordan Cameron, Eric Ebron*
    D: Jets
    K: Steven Hauschka

    * = bench

I have two teams-one is 2-0, the other is 1-1 (due to the Eddie Lacy injury ).

I have Big Ben as my QB on both teams, AP as my star RB on one and Eddie Lacy as my star RB on the other. The Lacy injury definitely sucks.

@AggieDaze: Jets D.....they had a surprisingly good week against the Colts (what was UP with the Colts this week?!?), but, depending on who's available, it might be worth looking for another D. The season my husband won he had a rotating D each week based on who they were playing against. He did pretty well when they played against an easy team that could be held to one or two DS or just field goals. Just a thought!

@Jess1483: We're watching "Hard Knocks" right now, and the Texans are featured this season. Foster is SO injury prone that it didn't surprise us to see him go out very early on in training camp. Hoping for your sake he comes back really soon!!

Sammy Watkins, Brandin Cook, or Travis Benjamin? This is for my WR3 spot so I'm not expecting a ton of points though that'd be nice lol

My team does not have a funny name or funny league name all these make me want to update that.

    Yahoo league not PPR

QB - Matt Ryan, Cam Newton
WR - Demariyis Thomas, Randall Cobb, Sammy Watkins, Brandin Cook, Travis Benjamin, Torrey Smith
RB - Adrian Peterson, LeSean McCoy, Chris Ivory, CJ Spiller
    TE - Jason Witten
    K - Adam Vianteri
    DEF - STL

@jetsa: A couple of us are also holding Benjamin.... Dare ya to play him!

  7. MrsKoala

    cantaloupe / 6869 posts

@AggieDaze: I think it depends on the bye week for Andrew Luck as to whether you should drop your back up. Is it coming up soon? If not, I'd say drop Bradford and try to pick up someone on waivers in whatever position you think is your weak link. If yes, ride it out and keep Bradford.

  8. MrsKoala

    cantaloupe / 6869 posts

@jetsa: Oooh that's a hard one. I think Benjamin is going to ride my bench this week to see if last week was real or just a one off and if he performs well, I'll put him in. I also like to read the weekly Love/Hate article by Matthew Berry as that helps me to determine who has the stronger matchup. I suggest you check it out. It gets posted on ESPN.com later in the day on Thursday.

    @MrsKoala: I'll check that out!

@AggieDaze: We have the same TEs... are you going to start Cameron this week? He didn't practice yesterday and has a tough match up, so I think I'm going with Ebron.

@jetsa: Cook didn't practice yesterday due to his ankle, so I probably wouldn't go with him in case it's not 100%. Benjamin would have the most risk but also the most upside. Watkins hasn't looked great this year. I have him too and am leaning towards not playing him.

I think I am not going to play Evans or Gurley (if he's active). I'm still bitter that I started Evans last week and he didn't catch anything. I was to see a good performance or two first.

I think I'm going to go with Ebron over Cameron this week due to Cameron's injury and match up (Bills).

For RB, I'm thinking Yeldon and Starks (but might change depending on what happens with Lacy). WR: Brown and Smith Sr.

Flex is a question mark between Ingram, Dion Lewis, Travis Benjamin or Sammy Watkins. I don't feel good about Ingram's match up, but everyone else is more of a risk. I think I'm going to go with Lewis or Benjamin. Thoughts?

  11. MrsKoala

    cantaloupe / 6869 posts

@78h2o: Dion without a doubt. He's on fire. It already seems like he has a rapport with Brady. That counts for a lot on the Pats. Brady has rapport with Edelman and Gronk but not so much Amendola and you can see the difference in their fantasy numbers.

  12. 78h2o

    grapefruit / 4441 posts

@MrsKoala: should I be worried that he's now fumbled twice?

  13. MrsKoala

    cantaloupe / 6869 posts

@78h2o: Nah... he made up for it. I tried to get him and couldn't and if I had him, I'd play him. Also, they're playing the Jags... it's a great matchup!

  14. 78h2o

    grapefruit / 4441 posts

@MrsKoala: Benjamin has had two really good games, but Manziel won't be QB this week... otherwise I think I might start him.

  15. 78h2o

    grapefruit / 4441 posts

@MrsKoala: True, it's a favorable match up. I was lucky and added him as a FA before week 1.

  16. MrsKoala

    cantaloupe / 6869 posts

@78h2o: That's why he's benched for me as well. He did well with Manziel but there's no telling how he'll match up with McCown.

  17. 78h2o

    grapefruit / 4441 posts

Now I'm second guessing Evans vs. Steve Smith. Do you think Evans will have his act together this week?

  18. Jess1483

    nectarine / 2641 posts

@78h2o: what crazy person told you to play Evans last week? (sorry...)

I'm trying to decide between playing Matt Ryan (my QB in both leagues) or Tyrod Taylor (only in one league). I'm tempted to give it a shot.

I just picked up Dion and am excited to play him.

  19. 78h2o

Someone in my league dropped CJ Anderson and Roddy White. Worth dropping someone to pick either up?

  20. MrsKoala

    cantaloupe / 6869 posts

@78h2o: Smith over Evans. I wouldn't drop anyone for Anderson or White at this point. They haven't proved much.

  21. 78h2o

    grapefruit / 4441 posts

@Jess1483: Haha, no worries. I appreciate your input. Everyone probably would have said the same. In fact, I think most would still suggest Evans this week. I'm still debating. I would probably try Taylor if the match up is good.. I have Eli Manning as my back-up QB and was thinking of trying to trade him or drop him for someone else. Taylor was already picked up though.

@MrsKoala: Thanks for the article. This is my first time playing, so I have no clue, but I imagine it's good to balance patience with a little courage/risk taking when potentially worthwhile. That said, I can totally see going overboard. I think there there's a girl in my league who has pretty much dumped her whole team at this point. I dropped some of my last round picks for Gurley and Watkins after she dropped them. Today she dropped 7 people including CJ Anderson. I decided to try to drop Starks for Anderson because I think over the course of the season Anderson will be better. My waiver claim is low though, so don't know if I will end up with him.

  24. jetsa

    grapefruit / 4663 posts

@MrsKoala: thanks! I already had Newton in and was able to pick up Denver instead of STL. I dropped TE Donnell yesterday for Benjamin but I have Witten so we'll see

@jetsa: I have Vinatieri as my Kicker too. How disappointing these first two weeks. Hope the Colts improve soon!

Anyone have any thoughts on playing Pierre Garcon or Frank Gore this week (flex position)? I was thinking of putting in Garcon since Gore hasn't been too productive.

  26. AggieDaze

@78h2o: At this point, I'm going to play Ebron. And I hear you on Evans! I played him last week too, and had been advised by multiple people to play him... what did he get? A big fat 0. In fact, my top 3-4 picks got like a cumulative 15 points. ugh. Darn DeMarco Murray and Andrew Luck too.

  27. 78h2o

    grapefruit / 4441 posts

How'd everyone do this weekend? I managed to win (thank you Steve Smith), but my point totals are still relatively low compared to others in my league. I think I'm 6th in overall points but in head-to-head match ups I'm 3-0. Basically, I've gotten really lucky with my match ups.

I have Antonio Brown and am worried about how he's going to do with Ben. What do you guys think?

Anyone you are going to try to pick up? I have terrible waiver priority, but I'm going to drop Starks and am looking to replace him with a WR or RB. Don't know who though!

I lost this week so I'm 2-1 now. My RBs are Marshawn Lynch and Alfred Morris and they were just terrible this week. I'm really disappointed with Lynch this season so far but I feel like I need to keep playing him every week.

  29. Chillybear

    pomegranate / 3032 posts

ugh... my team shit the bed this week.... Eifert got me 0 points, I benched Davante Freeman and he scored 47(!) points. My kicker got hurt so i dropped him and picked up the Giants kicker. now i'm 1-2... my players are so inconsistent the ones I bench score big so I play them the next week and they dont do squat

  30. 78h2o

    grapefruit / 4441 posts

@Chillybear: Ugh, that is sooo frustrating!!!! Especially Devante Freeman.

I eeked out a win this week so I am 2-1. But my point totals are very low compared to many people in the league so I think my team is ultimately going to struggle.

  32. MrsKoala

    cantaloupe / 6869 posts

I'm 3-0 even with Freeman on the bench (he hadn't done much so I didn't trust him!). Glad I didn't play Benjamin and went with James Jones and Kendall Wright instead. At the top of the league right now!

  33. MrsKoala

    cantaloupe / 6869 posts

@78h2o: Who are the top scoring WRs and RBs available in your league?

  34. 78h2o

    grapefruit / 4441 posts

@MrsKoala: I think I need to pick up a RB if there's anyone decent. I started Lewis and Yeldon in week 3 because I wasn't sure about Ingram's matchup, but that was dumb... Ingram did well and Yeldon continued to suck. So next week I plan to start Ingram but then am not sure who else. Don't trust Gurley yet and Lewis has a bye week

Avail RB are Blue, Dunbar, Reece, Riddick, Andrews, Rawls, Chris Thompson. Avail WRs are Marvin Jones, Hurns, Ginn, Britt, Heyward-Bey, Hankerson.

Waivers are done in inverse order of standing, so I have the 11th pick. However, there are a few people who don't seem to use the waiver wire at all, so I think my spot is more like 7th.

ETA: Mariota is available. I could also try to pick him up and trade him or Manning to someone who needs a QB. Do you think he's better than Eli Manning? I could also try to swap them or wait until Wed.

  35. MrsKoala

    cantaloupe / 6869 posts

@78h2o: hmmmm... what about a trade? Do you have any extra players that you don't need that are doing really well to trader for a RB or WR?

  36. MrsKoala

    cantaloupe / 6869 posts

@78h2o: I had Hurns last year and he did decently. Never blew me away but he always got some points.

  37. MrsKoala

    cantaloupe / 6869 posts

@78h2o: Mariota is available?? Absolutely go for him! I think Mariota has a better upside to keep but either can be traded for someone good. Alfred Blue is a decent pick up as well.

  38. 78h2o

    grapefruit / 4441 posts

    @MrsKoala:
    QB: M. Ryan, E. Manning
    RB: M. Ingram, T. Yeldon, T. Gurley, D. Lewis, J. Starks
    WR: A. Brown, M. Evans, S. Smith Sr., S. Watkins, T. Benjamin
    TE: J. Cameron, E. Ebron
    D/ST: Bills
    K: R. Gould

I think that probably somebody ahead of me will claim Blue, but I'll still try. I'll make a bunch of claims and hopefully one will go through. Would you do Mariota ahead of Blue and then try to trade E. Manning and maybe someone else for a better RB? I don't know how I failed to get a better running back. I think my first 2 picks might have been WRs...

  39. MrsKoala

    cantaloupe / 6869 posts

@78h2o: Yep, I'd do Mariota ahead, mainly because you have Lewis and Ingram so you basically only need a decent RB to fill in during Bye Weeks or throw into the Flex. Try and see what happens. You never know who you might get! Good luck !

  40. 78h2o

    grapefruit / 4441 posts

@MrsKoala: what do you think of Dalton? He is also available. Maybe I should drop E. Manning and replace him with Dalton or Mariota? And then put in other claims to replace Starks... Blue, M. Jones, etc?
