If you are playing, how are you doing so far? Any decisions you are trying to make?

OOOH thanks for starting this! I'm 2-0 right now and feeling really good about who I drafted. I just made a risky move in picking up Travis Benjamin and my husband was criticizing it a bit but I'm trying not to second guess my decision.
Should we write who we have on our teams?

I play with a group at work. Our league is a little annoying because they insist on using auto-draft (so that it's more "fair" to the people who don't actually follow football but for whatever reason are still playing). So my team is sort of random but decent. I'm 2-0 so I'm happy to be doing well so far.

I'm in two leagues. In the first, I'm 0-2, but I've had the 3rd or 4th highest score in the whole league (12 players) both weeks, just rotten luck with my opponent. Plus I've still got Arian Foster on my bench, and when he comes back, I'm hoping things will get better.
In my other league, I'm 2-0 and in first place. It's a family league and the scoring was changed this year to sort-of-PPR, but not entirely, which is throwing me off. But I'm doing well and hoping to pull out a win. Last year I took second.

Yes! Thank you for starting this. I'm 2-0 so far. I did really well at the beginning of last year and crapped out in the end. I only won this past week because my opponent had Luck. My RB need to be performing better. This is my second year picking up Marshaun Lynch and he got me way better points last year. My WR scored huge and compensated for everyone else.
@catlady: ugh. That kinda sucks some of the fun out of it. At least you are happy with your team!

I'm 0-2 so far despite drafting well my opponents have managed to score 110+ in a non ppr league so I'm hoping it'll pickup

In one league I am 1-1 and the other I am 2-0. If you are in a league where you have to pick your D players, use this - it's pretty helpful. http://www.idpguru.com/2015/09/2015-weekly-idp-rankings.html

@MrsKoala: I picked him up too. It was either him or Matt Jones instead of Cunningham (who I dropped). I'm sort of regretting not getting Jones, but I thought I needed a WR more than another RB... I guess we'll see what happens. Are you going to start him? I am considering using him in the FLEX position, but I know that would be risky/possibly stupid.
@Jess1483: Ugh, that sucks about your first league. I am in the opposite position where I am 2-0 (2nd), but only by chance... my point totals haven't been very high, I've just had good match ups. I am going to get creamed later on if I don't start getting more points. That's good that you are doing well in the second league!
@catlady: That's weird that they autodraft... I guess I understand their reasoning, but it seems like it sort of defeats the purpose. Oh well... sounds like you are making the best of it.
@Eko: Do you have Brown? He's totally been carrying my team
@jetsa: Someone in my league (who I fortunately did not play last week) scored 142. Her bench scored a ton too. Ugh!!!
@mediagirl: I'm glad I don't have to worry about picking individual defensive players at this point! That is a lot to monitor!
I don't think I drafted a very good team. I was really clueless in the beginning! I've been working to try to improve my team (I've had 13 acquisitions, lol), but I don't know if I can overcome some of my initial picks. Hopefully M. Evans and T. Gurley will both start playing/contributing.
Here's my team:
QB: M. Ryan, E. Manning
RB: M. Ingram, T. Yeldon, T. Gurley*, D. Lewis*, J. Starks*
WR: A. Brown, M. Evans, S. Smith Sr., S. Watkins*, T. Benjamin*
TE: J. Cameron, E. Ebron*
D/ST: Bills
K: R. Gould*
* = post-draft aquisitions
I had Parkey as my kicker but got irritated with the Eagles for rarely scoring and dropped him for Gould. That might have been a rookie mistake, but we'll see!
I'm debating dropping Cameron (or maybe Ebron) for Gillmore, but that might be premature.

P.S. I am open to any and all feedback on my team... who to start/sit, who to drop or trade, etc.
cantaloupe / 6869 posts
Here's my drafted team + post draft acquistions:
QB: C. Newton, A. Smith
RB: A. Morris, D. Williams, L. Bell, S. Vereen, D. Freeman
WR: S. Johnson, J. Edelman, A. Jeffery, J. Jones*, T. Benjamin*
TE: J. Graham, K. Rudolph
D/ST: Broncos*
K: J. Tucker
@78h2o: I'm not sure what I'm going to do yet! I dropped Kendall Wright for Benjamin (I was last in waivers so I never thought I would get him) and I'm not sure if I'm going to regret it or not since Benjamin's performance last week could have been a huge fluke. I always struggle with who to start and who to sit but I find that the less "tinkering" I do, the better my team performs.

@MrsKoala: If it makes you feel any better I just picked up Benjamin today too. He's warming the bench until he proves himself a little more or i truly need him. but he may just be my sleeper for the year. This is my 5th year holding a team and our league is call couples who each have their own teams so its real fun when your team ends up facing off against your SO. my hubs is super competitive and refuses to help me with anything re: my team

@Chillybear: It does make me feel better! Thank you! My husband is also in my league with me and always has been so I tend to take his criticisms a little more to heart than I should because we are in direct competition and oh man, I am way too competitive. I do relish it when I kick his butt, though!

QB: Matt Ryan, Alex Smith*
RB: C. Anderson, M. Ingram, D. Freeman*, R. Mathews*
WR: A. Brown, E. Sanders, A. Johnson*, R. Randle*, T. Benjamin*
TE: T.Kelce, T. Eifert
D: Seahawks, Chiefs*
K: C. Parkey
* Bench
So far 1-1

@Chillybear: I see you have Parkey. Are you going to keep him? I'm second guessing dropping him, but he almost didn't get a chance to score at all last week. I think he's a good kicker, but the rest of the Eagles' offense isn't doing him any favors. Are you playing Ingram this week? Do you think he'll do better or worse with Brees out?
pomegranate / 3032 posts
@78h2o: I'm playing Ingram I think he's a very consistent player I've had him in years past and he almost always puts up points... I might switch him out for freeman but i dont really have another good option. As far as kickers, Eagles are my home team and I've seen him play in the preseason and he's not very good. If he doesnt improve I'll drop him at bye week and pick up someone else. they score so few points in our league overall.
grapefruit / 4441 posts
ESPN standard as well
@Chillybear: thanks for your insight.
@MrsKoala: I am definitely guilty of over-thinking/over-tinkering! There are some people in my league that need to tinker more though... one girl has Lacy and Brees and didn't try to pick up anyone on the waiver wire. Another girl, who I know has played for several years, has 3 people on her bench who aren't even playing (they all have 0% ownership). It annoys my Type A self that they are just sitting there, wasting space, lol!

Anyone good at coming up with fun team names? Mine's a play on my last name but it kinda stinks... I need a better one
cantaloupe / 6869 posts
@78h2o: Ha, that annoys me, too! There are several people in our league who are not paying attention and it drives me crazy!!
@Chillybear: I like to think I'm good at it! I like to name my teams based on the name of one of my players. My teams in the past were Cruz With Me Baby, Cruz-ing for a Bruising, Puts You to Shane (Vereen), and my team this year is Ladies and Edelman.

Any suggestions for my team?
Last year I was Mr. Rodger's Neighborhood
cantaloupe / 6869 posts
@Chillybear: For your team, I'd do something like You Can't Randle This or Good Job, Good Eifert (playing off of the meme of the Miami Heat fan from a couple years ago). I'll try to think of some other ideas for you if you like the idea of a player pun.
grapefruit / 4441 posts
@MrsKoala: one of the teams in my league is "LUCK on my side". Her icon says, "Let's get LUCK-y!". I'm assuming she intended to draft Luck, but she didn't, so I think it's kind of strange. LOL! But then again, this is the first time I've played, so I have no idea what people usually do. Mine is just my nickname (a variation of my last name).
ETA: I like your suggestions for Chillybear!
pomegranate / 3032 posts
@MrsKoala: Yeah see i'm no good at that.... Those are funny, I wish my starters had fun names. Good Job, Good Eifert is good though
cantaloupe / 6869 posts
@Chillybear: who do you like to start? Any one who is your favorite? I like to pick a specific player and find something that fits. Like Victor Cruz and Julian Edelman are two of my favorite players right now as you can probably see.

I was trying to do something with ryan mathews matt ryan
Antonio Brown is my best player

@Chillybear: Ok so a couple of other ideas off the top of my head (depends on your character maximum, too)
What Can Brown Do For You?

@Chillybear: my team name is one of the names from the Key and Peele east/west football name skit. There are some good options in there
I'm in two leagues, a friends league and one with my husband's coworkers. I'm 2-0 in both!
In the work one I had an awesome team until both Romo and Bryant went down :(. I just picked up Flacco and am debating dropping Bryant but the reports are conflicted on how long he'll be out.
grapefruit / 4355 posts
I'm 1-1 so far but Le'Veon Bell is off his suspension starting this week so that definitely helps my team out!
nectarine / 2148 posts
@Chillybear: we have some similar players! I've been so torn on Ingram but I don't have many other good backups.
What are your league names? Ours is Monday Morning Tears. My name is Queen B (since my husband is in the league.
nectarine / 2148 posts
@sslm: that's really unfortunate. I chose Jordy Nelson a week before he got injured.
grapefruit / 4441 posts
Our league is Sunday Funday. Not super creative!
Who has Evans? Will you play him this week. I started him on FLEX last week and he got 0 while Dion Lewis was on my bench with 15. Sort of afraid of a repeat.
grapefruit / 4355 posts
@Eko: ours is Fantasy Couples Counseling since we have a bunch of spouses so everyone ends up playing their SO during the season.
pomegranate / 3032 posts
Ours in 4 Bye Week Minimum - The first year of the league somehow they set it up and a player dropped out and everyone ended up with like 4 bye weeks where we didnt play. So our Commish is making fun at that

My friend wants me to go with "Whoops! Eifert'd".... Her team name is Gym Tan Landry.... My hubs said "CJs over BJs"
