I would be annoyed if he wanted the whole day free. But then I'm not really the kind of mom that wanted to spend Mother's Day at the spa. I wanted to spend it with my family. DH did have a couple hours to himself where he ran an errand and did some shopping. I think it was a good balance.

It wouldn't bother me either. We all know how exhausting parenting is. I'm used to caring for DS on my own most of the time anyhow so this wouldn't be any different.

It would bother me.
For my mothers day gift I got a massage and pedicure and I purposely planned it for a weekday and used a day of PTO because I wanted to be with them. We both WOH so weekends are really the only quality time we get.

I would be okay with it. But my husband is great at stepping up every other day of the year so a day off seems reasonable. On mothers day I had some quiet time too!

In our house mothers/Father's Day is about acknowledging how much we each do and resting.
I think everyone celebrates differently.

That wouldn't annoy me. I set up a golf day for DH the Saturday before Father's Day, and he was away doing that for most of the day. Yesterday, we did stuff together, but it definitely wouldn't have bothered me if he wanted to play golf yesterday instead of Saturday.
