Just wanted to say I'm glad you like the Trumpette socks! I've bought a bunch, but heard other moms say they don't stay on. Seems like a lot of moms like Baby Gap socks for staying on.

The trumpette socks fall off my baby's feet, but they are still so darn cute that I put them on him anyways. I like larger sized socks. I got the Circo ones from Target (I think) but in 6-12 month size for my 3 month old baby. They're practically like knee socks on him and they don't come off very easily.

In the mary jane style, DD has some BabyGap, Tippy Toes, Little Me, Trumpette, and Carter's. I like them in that order. BabyGap is thicker than Trumpette and the NB size Little Me's I bought have a denser weave, so it seems thicker. They also wash a lot better, which is surprising since they were a ton cheaper. Not to mention they fit her feet better - it wasn't as loose in the toes when she was younger, like Trumpettes. Same with the Tippy Toes, they are a denser knit, so they wash better and a bit thicker. But I still love Trumpettes.

Hanes and Faded Glory with the fold down top are the only two brands that stayed on my son's feet. We continue to use Hanes because they are a heavier sock and higher quality.

@pelikila: i second the Hanes socks (I got at target). I bought boyish colors for DS but they are even better than baby gap or old navy (what I used to buy for DD) for staying on feet due to the snug ribbing at the top.

I just bought a few organic socks from See Kai Run for my son and they're AWESOME. I'm buying a bunch for my DD as well.
