What carrier do you recommend for me? I'm 5 feet tall, petite, and have a 2 year old as well. I'm planning on doing lots of baby carrying with LO #2. Help.

Well, you already know I liked my Ergo. Just need the infant insert to use it with a newborn.

@Arden: tiny newborns? My 1st LO was 6 weeks early, so I'm kinda expecting to go early again.

I could not have survived the first 6 months without the Ktan. Seriously. It was great it we were over at someone's house, she could still nap.
We have the Ergo as well, but ever bought the infant insert and it was 9+months before she could sit in it without it.

@BandDmommy: Yeah I've used ktan on 5lb doula babies. It works great for the teeny ones.
Moby wrap is also great but more complicated to learn.

@BandDmommy: I liked the moby more than the ktan, because the ktan never felt secure enough, but it was probably a combo of sizing being off and user error. I loved the moby but even at the time thought it might be tricky to take the minute or two to wrap it up with an infant and a toddler. If it's possible to try both that's what I would do- remembering that there is a short learning curve for the moby.
Love my beco Gemini carrier now, started using it around 4 months. (They say you can use it from birth but it wasn't comfortable for either of us.)

We loved our moby! This time around I want to get a solly baby wrap--the colors are beautiful.

I obviously have zero experience but I'm going for the ergo; I need something more structured, I know for myself I will never figure out the wraps and the slings! I'm reaaally hoping someone will gift me the new 360 since I really want that forward facing option.

I love my Lillebaby carrier. Started using it pretty soon after LO was born and still using it a year later. Though now I'm back or side carrying because the baby bump for #2 is too big to permit front carrying.

I used the Moby starting at 4 weeks when DD was about 6.5 lbs and DS was about 5.5 lbs. I liked how snug and close I could get them. We use Ergos now at 5 months but I'm 5'2" and find the Ergo a little bulky. Being petite, I wonder if you'd like a wrap or ring sling better when DD is a newborn.

I vastly preferred the Ktan to the Ergo for the newborn phase. I used the Ergo from around 6 months to 20 months though!

I loved my Boba wrap when H was a newborn, but it was a lot of fabric for me and I'm 5'5" tall. I was able to get a good, snug fit with it and just wrap the fabric a few extra times. Once she was older, I used the Ergo exclusively, first with the infant insert now without it.

I'm also 5ft and petite and my son was also early. That being said I have the Beco and really love it! I tried my friends Ergo first but it was way too big. I read a lot of reviews and many people said the Beco is better/easier for petite people. I used it once my son hit 7lbs. It's easy to get on and very comfortable.
