My other diaper bag bit the dust after 2 kids. I just use a regular purse now but think I'm going to need something more substantial with #3 on the way.
Anyone have any recent favorites?

I never really liked mine, but with two kids I find it way easier to use a regular backpack. It's hot side pockets for our water bottles and a couple of compartments inside. It's not perfect but the hands free aspect is huge. Mine is Under Armour brand.

I just bought this and like it! They have a couple different variations.

If I had to do it all over again, I would get a tote with an organizer.

I also have a Timi and Leslie that I like but a lot of times I still grab a couple diapers wipes and a onesie in a gallon ziploc and a bottle formula tether and baby food in another and throw it in a big tote.

For 2 kids I use this backpack- so nice to have my hands free, it fits plenty (we cloth diaper), and is super lightweight. Oh, and cheap

@ocean81: I was just looking at that one! One of the reviews said it was a bit heavy and awkward. Is it OK?

I have the Tom Bihn diaper bag, and it's amazing. So much space and comfortable to carry. It's a messenger bag style and gender neutral. DH uses it on occasion as well. It also works well as a normal messenger bag, and I have carried it around in the city without the kids before.

Still liking my Jujube BRB diaper bag. I love the print, all the pockets and still like that I got one that is a backpack.

We use a Skip Hop Versa and I've always loved it. I particularly like how when we use it as a carry-on for flights, it feels like we can cram a ton of stuff inside it before we run out of room.

@Maysprout: I haven't found it to be heavy or awkward! I had a Kate Spade before this one and I despised it. I love how you can wear this one cross body or comfortably over your shoulder. The straps are also perfect for the stroller. I also don't think it looks to diaper baggie, ha. They have the messenger style with 3 exterior pockets and then one with more exterior pockets for bottles. I recommend it!

I like my jujube super-be. Large and soft structured.

I have a Danzo and love it.
With #2 I gave myself a second option..I have a tote from thirty one with some zipper pouches...I use this when I take both girls...its easier...

I really dislike my kate spade. I got a much cheaper Lug Tuktuk for dd2 and love it sooo much better

I have a Lily Jade and Fawn Design. The backpack option was a game changer and I love that I can use it as a work bags too.

I love my Honest Co diaper bag...it just feels like a really nice messenger/tote! However, it's way more than I would spend myself...it was given as a gift.

I love my Kate Spade Daycation Serena, it is a crossbody style and I feel like I can fit a ton in there. I had a Skip Hop Duo at first, and I hated it.

I like my skip hop duo, but slightly annoyed that DH insisted on a bag that he could carry (not too girly) and guess how many times he's carried it. Yup, zero!

Oh diaper bags! I have disliked every single thing I have tried, lol. I have a pricy Mia Bossi that weighed a ton, a Danzo backpack that is 'meh" for the compartment sizes and a Skip Hop Duo that occasionally makes an appearance.
I do best with a plain backpack and gallon sized ziplock bags, truth be told.

@leelee: which lily jade do you have? Do you like it? I almost bought one and now I'm regretting that I didn't!

First my first, I used a JJ Cole bag. It was ok. When I had my second I started using a Kipling Ravier backpack and it was awesome! It really helped because I wore #2 a lot. Now that the baby is almost one and the toddler is potty trained ( thank the lord) I just use a medium sized Longchamp Le Pliage tote with an organizer insert. Works great!

@ocean81: I have the Madeline in brandy and i love it! I have literally used it every day for work and outings with the kids for over a year now. great quality bags and still looks brand new. My sister has a Shaylee which is larger and loves it too. they're expensive but totally worth it in my opinion since they are so versatile and last for awhile.

If I were to start from scratch, I would've asked for a Lily Jade that can be worn as a backpack. But I would not spend that much on a diaper bag myself.
I liked my Skip Hop Duo... I do like that I have an actual diaper bag that I'm not afraid to get wet/dirty i/o worrying about using an actual bag. When DD got older and harder to hold, I just got regular backpacks when I know I need my hands free. Now I just use my long champ as she's 18 mo and need less stuff.

Petunia PickleBottom!!! I used mine for about 2 years before swapping to a smaller bag and it is still in perfect condition after washing. I have a boxy backpack that comes with backpack straps and a messenger bag strap. It's waterproof, has an attached changing pad for yucky public restrooms, and tons of inside pockets plus two outside pockets that fit sizeable water bottles. I will be able to use it again for DD2 (and possibly still be able to consign it after two kids worth of daily use). The website has great flash sales every so often, so my bag only cost about $100.

I have a Lily Jade Caroline but I'm currently using the Boken bag which I love.
@ Leelee: do you love your Fawn Design? I want one so bad but don't want to spend the money on it.

I really like my Jujube BFF. It's a good size and a good amount of compartments. I think it's important to think about *how* you'll use your bag. For us, if we're going somewhere that requires the bag, almost all the time we needed the stroller too. So a backpack feature wasn't necessary, but I loved having stroller clips. Occasionally I do use the messenger strap though.

Obsessed with Fawn Design diaper bags! I have one and love it. https://fawndesign.com/collections/bags?mc_cid=f5bb9d8f25&mc_eid=277c9047a2

@Canoli: do you use the backpack function alot? If so then Fawn design works great because it has thick straps. Functionally I think the Boken bag is better because it has so many compartments but i am a fan of diaper bags that can double as purses/everyday bags so that's why I have Fawn Design and Lily Jade.

another vote for lilyjade. It was my christmas present to myself and I do NOT regret it! I got mine slightly discounted from the outlet site. I love how it is interchangeable from a tote to a backpack and can also be used as a regular bag when the organizer is removed. Totally worth it in my opinion

I have a Storksak Olivia. It's not cheap, but I loooooove it.

@bluestriped bee: I have the same one and I love it.
Although I use my jujube BRB for when it's just me and the baby. I was finding I needed something slightly bigger for when I'm out for the day with both kids just so I can have extra room for snacks for me and my 3 yo and a couple of extra items. So I got the LekeBaby backpack: https://www.amazon.ca/gp/aw/d/B01F4RQM9G/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1467243009&sr=8-1&pi=SY200_QL40&keywords=leke+diaper+backpack&dpPl=1&dpID=51uqUTGd2SL&ref=plSrch
I like it too so DH can use it (my jujube is a very girly print, I was lucky to get the print I wanted second hand for half price).
I'm basically all about the back packs and love both of mine. I had went through a couple of diaper bags with LO1 but never loved them. I love the freedom of the back pack. Especially as LO1 got older, it's nice to go places without the stroller sometimes.

@californiadreams: do you use it with a carrier? I'm looking for something that will work with my lillebaby!
pomegranate / 3411 posts
@tinyperson: yes baby wearing is another big reason I love the back packs. And I actually find the Leke one slightly more comfortable. It feels lighter somehow even though it's bigger. Both my bags have different pros.

I'm on about my 15th diaper bag now and finally found one I love - Storksak Noa. I hated my Timi and Leslie Jessica bag, as well as all my various other cheaper bags, but loving the Noa so far!
persimmon / 1461 posts
the one I've used the most is the boken bag, its very roomy, soft, has plenty of compartments, and has the backpack feature. the only thing i'm not keen on is that it is very casual for when you have a dressier event.

@paigeface: ooh those bags are lovely! Which color do you have?

@Ree723: where was this when I was looking for diaper bags?! I love this! It's totally what I recommended, a tote with insert/organizer!
cantaloupe / 6885 posts
@LCTBQE: there are no exterior pockets which makes grabbing something quickly difficult. There are just a few interior pockets so it's hard to organize. It's tall instead of long which makes it feel like a bottomless pit. The shoulder straps aren't long enough nor comfortable enough. The quality of the material is not great so after 3 years it looks terrible and hasn't held up at all.
The Tuktuk is everything my KS is not! Tons of pockets, easy to clean, amazing quality and padded shoulder straps. It's not as fashionable but this far into kids I've found that fashion is last on my priority list when it comes to diaper bags haha.
ETA: my KS isn't the Stevie, I've heard better reviews about that style.
