We're going to be hosting Thanksgiving again this year, but I always used to bring a dessert when we would go to my parents or ILs house. I usually made Strawberry Pretzel Salad or white chocolate cranberry cookies.
What do you usually bring?

Spanikopita is my favorite thing to bring if I'm up to all the work. Other things I've brought at green bean casserole and dessert (apple pie or pumpkin cheese cake).

If it was my choice: Candied yams...this was a Thanksgiving staple growing up, but nowadays no one seems to make it. However, my mac & cheese is always requested.

They're amazing. Easy to serve, and the perfect proportion of crunchy outside to chewy inside.

When we go to my ILs, I bring my aunt's sweet potato casserole. Not the stuff with marshmallows on top. Hers has this delicious pecan praline topping. Gaaaah, it's my favorite thing about Thanksgiving/fall.
Every other year, though, I host. So then I pretty much bring everything.

@Truth Bombs: omg - I LOVE spanikopita but I don't think I could ever put up the effort to make it.
@MaryM: Those sound amazing

@littlebug: please share?! That's why I've never made sweet potato casserole because it's always got marshmallow on top!

@Truth Bombs: @BabyBoecksMom: My brother tried them the first year the recipe came out, and I've HAD to make them every year since. Beside being muffins, it's the best stuffing recipe I've ever made.

We always host and end up making everything, but this is my favorite dish we make!

When I lived close by, I brought my famous apple pie. Now that we have to fly, I think I will make pumpkin cinnamon rolls and then frost them in the morning for breakfasts for all the cooks at my cousin's house!

I've been bringing this Pumpkin cheesecake with pecan praline topping and it is DIVINE. It's s southern living recipe. Seriously amazing.
I also bring pumpkin or apple pie too. Sometimes pumpkin roll.
Edit: I'm obviously the dessert bringer in my family! Haha. They count on me every year because they say I make the best desserts.

Hashbrown casserole! And now that I decorate cookies, I'll be bringing some pretty cookies too.

I always bring Maple Pecan Sweet Potatoes. Despite its name, it's not overly sweet--I use this recipe (and omit the marshmallows): http://www.myrecipes.com/recipe/maple-pecan-sweet-potatoes
I almost always make a pie, too. Flavor changes each year.
