I bought one recently that left my hair really sticky and went straight into the trash. What's your favorite dry shampoo that still keeps your hair soft and manageable?

I just used Batiste dry shampoo for the first time this week and so far so good! Smells great too! I loved the Suave dry shampoo with the yellow cap but they discontinued it so I had to try a new one. And I've heard great things about Living Proof dry shampoo.

i love the batiste one as well. specifically the one for dark hair so it doesn't show up as white, but I've tried the original and tropical scented ones as well and like them all. i always get them at tjmaxx for like $4.
I've tried the Tresemme one before as well and that one was AWEFUL, super white and sticky and smelled super strong like rubbing alcohol.

I like the batiste one also. I've only tried the tropical (which smells great) but want to try the for dark hair also.
I've also used herbal essences but I don't like it as much.

The living proof one is amazing but fairly expensive. For a drugstore brand, I really like the salon grafix brand (it's white bottle with pink writing on it).

I bought this sample pack of dry shampoos from Birchbox: https://www.birchbox.com/shop/dry-shampoo-starter-kit. It comes with a cute shower cap, which is super fun!
My favorites from the set are the Amika Perk-Up and R+Co Death Valley, although I find them all to be pretty similar. The Living Proof one that others have mentioned above also comes in this set and is good.

Kevin Murphy is great but expensive. Also pureology.
I like to try lots of beauty products so I buy a lot of travel size to get my fix and it's not insanely expensive.
My friend who is a product snob swears by Suave Keratin dry shampoo but I think the smell is too strong.
I just tried the new Ouai Dry shampoo Foam at Sephora and I. Am. Obsessed. I need to start using up what I have so I can buy the full sized with no guilt.
It's like rubbing mousse in your dry hair which is off putting at first. But you keep rubbing (and start with a small amount) and it suddenly made my hair grease free, voluminous and smelled amazing. I was in shock. I texted my best friend right away.

@SweetiePie: I have been reading about that! I don't use dry shampoo often due to drier hair but may have to invest.

@LibbyLou: Go to a Sephora and test it out! Mind blown.
Some people had bad reviews but I think they used too much.

Batiste is awesome for those with dark hair. Smells and feels great too. I love the bit of volume I get from it too.

I hated Batiste when I tried it, but I know lots of people who like it. For a cheap drugstore brand, I much prefer Psssst original. ($7 at Ulta)
I really love Living Proof's dry shampoo, but it is more expensive.

@thepicklemonster: Does it leave your hair soft? I don't want a sticky mess but more like powder in a bottle.

@Coral: if you like powder in a bottle here are some amazing options:
Alterna Caviar Anti Ageing dry shampoo (the anti ageing makes me roll my eyes a little but the actual product is good)
Kevin Murphy has a powder you shake.
Bumble & Bumble has a shaker option

@SweetiePie: Thanks! It doesn't have to be legit powder but I have been "burned" by dry shampoos that feel more like hairspray.

@Coral: Yeah it dries into a powder! I only wash my hair once a week so trust me I know what I'm talking about lol

@thepicklemonster: You mean the Ouai one? My post partum hair is SO greasy my usual dry shampoo isn't even cutting it!

I'm so curious to try Living Proof with all of these shout outs! I have their serum and I'm almost out of it. I was just kind of meh on it (took me 2 years to finish it) so I never tried anything else unless I got a sample.
Oh and I wanted to add...Serge Normant makes a dry conditioner that I love. I'm kind of obsessed with the smell. I only have a travel size so I use it very sparingly when I want something special. It makes your hair so silky and shiny but not greasy! They also make a dry shampoo which I haven't tried. And a hairspray that I also adore and bought the full size.

@snowjewelz: I thought the Ouai one was amazing. I was in an oily ponytail all day when I tried the Ouai and it was amazing. Maybe slightly tacky to the touch, but it was to add volume and it didn't look sticky or heavy.
I have thin hair so for me I could have probably used less than I did but it still didn't look bad.

Not your mother's clean freak. It's like $5 at target. I'd love to try the living proof but I'm just not ready for that kind of dry shampoo investment. Like another bee said, I only wash my hair once a week, I wouldn't keep using one that's bad!

Living Proof! I tried it after I saw recs on here and it's great! My hair is typically super greasy if I don't wash it, but this stuff works!

Not your mother's is great for the price point but living proof was way better. I got the travel size to try it out and will buy a full size one when I'm out.

@Coral: What did you think? I'm having sticker shock at the price. I may try a cheap version first.
I mean I can get by with baby powder some times which is like 99 cents. Is this stuff really all that amazing?

I've tried Batiste and found the scent way too strong and overshelming. Suave is still pretty stinky, but, less so. Herbal essences still smells strongly, but is a much much lighter scent in comparison.

I love the suave one! $5 or less at target near me. I don't like ones that are wet, but the suave is very dry like powder. I have ashy dark blonde hair so I'm not sure if it would be trickier on dark hair. I often use it the day I wash for volume and then also spray at night if I am not washing the next morning.
