I’ve never used a Lillebaby for a newborn, but love it for my toddler. I also really like ring slings for infants—I got mine from Sleeping Baby Productions.

I used a K'tan when DD was a newborn. It's similar to a wrap but much easier (to me) to put on.

When she got bigger I used an Ergo360. I didn't find it to be too bulky but I assume it's fairly similar to the original Ergo.

I have used three types of carriers

Lillebaby-
pros: super comfortable, really long life span, can wear lots of ways. I use this for when we are going for a long walk or hiking
Cons: bulky, cannot fit into diaper bag, not as “cute”

Solly-
Pros: can fit into diaper bag, lots of cute patterns, easy to wear
Cons: baby can only face you (both my babies liked to look out into the world by 3months), shorter life span, sometimes hard to wrap when out and about (you have to put your baby down, and I felt like the ends always dragged on the floor in the process of wrapping)

My favorite- ring sling (I have a wildbird)
Pros: can fit into diaper bag, love the minimal look, baby can face outwards on hip, super easy to pop baby in and out quickly. We use this daily!
Cons: a little bit of a learning curve. Can get uncomfortable if wearing for more than an hour or two.

I only had one, so nothing to compare to, but I really loved the k'tan, I've worn it a couple different ways depending on how big LO was at the time. Super easy to put on once you've done it a few times.

For a wrap, I hated the k’tan (stretched out really easily and never felt secure, already had the smallest size so couldn’t size down). With LO2 I got the solly and love it! It’s very easy to wrap and I still use it occasionally with my 15-lb almost 4mo.

For a structured carrier we have loved the Beco gemini with both kids and across me, my husband, and our nanny (who is tiny).

Love my solly wrap. I’m shorter (5’2”) and they make a shorter size that is much more manageable to wrap. I had a hard time with the moby bc of its length!

If you can find a babywearing group that has a library trying on different carriers is invaluable! Everything fits everyone differently.

A wrapsody hybrid is awesome because it has the ease of a stretchy wrap but more support like a woven. But it does have more of a learning curve than a soft structured.

Love kinderpacks for a soft structured. The infant works from about 21 inches.

Littles shouldn't face out until they can sit up unassisted. They need full trunk control so they aren't slouching. We never faced out because by the time my lo could face out she was heavy and it was super uncomfortable. Hip carries are great when they want to see out and usually more comfy for everyone. You can start hip carries once they can sit up with assistance

Definitely see if you can find a store or babywearing group that lets you try things out. All the response above are so varying that it is hard to decide what is best.

I had a large baby, over 9 pounds. I did use a baby k'tan in the beginning and really liked it. It is super easy and it was tight to my body.

We then quickly moved to Lillebaby and really loved that as well. We did the frog position in it for when he was 'little' and he loved it slept well, and I was comfortable.

I did have a solly baby wrap, I never could get it tight. Hope to try it next time and commit more energy to wrapping it.

Now as a toddler I have a Beco Gemini and like it as well. I switched to Beco for the toddler carrier mainly since my local maternity store offers a rental program and I wanted to try the carrier for a period first.

Next time I would like to try a ring sling as an infant but will rely on my local maternity store to help me with it. I find the highly adjustable wraps and slings, overwhelming.

I think the easiest after a few months is a ring sling. There is a learning curve with getting it adjusted/comfortable-- but once you've got it it's literally 5 seconds to put it on and I can get the kid in/adjusted while walking into the store without breaking stride. I will say though, it's not my favorite for the newborn stage. I do still use it with my newborn because it is so fast , but it's hard to get really good head support with a ring sling so I only use it when I know I'll have 1 hand free to support her head as needed. My favorite for the newborn stage when I need to be really mobile and hands free is the sollybaby wrap. It's much thinner and more comfortable than the moby IMO. I think it is *easy* to use, but it's not as fast. It takes a good 60 seconds or so for me to get it on, and probably another 60 seconds to get kiddo in/adjusted. Which doesn't sound like a lot but it's enough that it annoys me a little lol. But I still use it daily. My biggest tip for it is to put it on (tie in front) before leaving the house so that when you arrive at your destination you aren't messing around with trying to get it on/tied in a parking lot.

My most used/favorite carrier with my first was a tula. With her, I used a moby and a meh dai (formerly mei tai) for the first 2 months, then ring sling for errands and around the house until 8 months, standard Tula from 4 months to 22 months, boba ssc for errands from 8 to 22 months, and she’s still in a toddler Tula at 26 months.

With my 8 week old, I’m using mostly woven wraps, and a ring sling and diy moby on occasion. We tried the standard Tula with an infant insert, but I didn’t love it. I’ll start using our Tula when she’s big enough, and will also continue to use woven wraps.

If I had to pick just one carrier to cover my babywearing needs, I’d probably go with an adjustable soft structured carrier that adjusts from newborn to infant size. I haven’t tried them personally, but they seem like a good solution. Tula free to grow, ergo Omni, Lenny up (Lenny lamb), and lillebaby.
