I have never been a big makeup wearer (not out of anything besides sheer laziness) but my skin has changed a lot since LO was born. I think that it's time to find a foundation for everyday wear and I am curious about where I should start.
I am looking for something light and that feels/looks natural. Also something that is easy to apply! That's the key for me!

You should go to sephora and get your colorIQ done. They hold up this little handheld device to your face in a few places and get your tone, color, undertone, etc. And they give you a list of several options that will be your best color match. It is pretty amazing. I find tinted moisturizer, bb and cc creams to be a little blue toned and they really don't work for me. But I was able to try out several of my color options at Sephora and found an amazing foundation that is the perfect color and coverage for me. It is not about the brand, it is about the right color and coverage!

@mrsjyw: I actually do wear a tinted moisturizer but I find that I now need something with a little bit more coverage. I guess this is what happens as we get older...

i recently switched from a powder foundation to a bb cream--i'm liking it so far, but i'm not sure if it would provide the level of coverage you are looking for? buying new makeup is always so fun (even though i only do it once in a blue moon)!

@Periwinkle: I was a longtime bareminerals user and just recently switched to bobbi brown's tinted moisturizer as my base, bobbi brown's mineral foundation for all over setting and benefits undereye cream for my dark circles! i use makeupforever's bronzer if i need a lil life in my cheeks

On a whim a few weeks ago I bought Almay's new Smart Shade Mousse foundation and it is amazing. It has great coverage but feels light. It's one that "matches" your skin tone. I don't know what kind of which craft that is, but it kinda works (it's a tad bit dark on me but I'm super pale)! Also - cheap!

I love origins Stay tuned foundation! It's all natural, and it feels light and doesn't transfer or turn my face into an oil slick!
Get a good brush for your foundation, I like Shiseido's perfect foundation brush, Tarte bamboo kabuki, and the beauty blender sponge.

Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua is my all time favorite-- I use it with a beauty blender
For BB Cream, I don't use ANY of the US Brands... they never quite lived up to the hype for me.... I do love the ones I have from Lioele and Skinfood so I would recommend those.
