Ordering a highchair and since shipping is pricey I figured I'd reach out and see if there is anything else I *need* while I'm at it!
Any recommendations for favorite ikea items for family/home?

I like their electrical outlet covers.

Their dish towels - white with two red stripes - are amazing and 79 cents each! They are thin enough to dry wine glasses, nice and absorbent and so cheap that I buy a dozen at a time. I also like their plates, bowls, and cups for kids.

Just browse and start adding stuff! Sooo many things I love at Ikea, I can't pick! Currently I have on my list to get (I live 10 min way) -

The kids painting smocks. They work great as bibs.

I like their cork board pot holder things. You place a pot or serving dish on top to protect your table.

Oh to add, their stuffed animals are SO soft! I also buy a lot of their candles.

Just this morning, I was thinking about what I "need" at Ikea. Top of my list are the plastic children's cups. Also, other small (and easily shippable things) I love are there picture frames and paper napkins in cool prints.

@snowjewelz: How much time do you think I should plan to be there? I have a 10 month old, so I'm planning on bringing the stroller and carrier. 3 hours?

I love their picture frames. They look great for a gallery wall.
I also apparently have a thing for Kallax (was Expedit) - cubed storage great for books and toys.
Love the kid's bowls! Should probably buy more.

@MrsBrewer: 3 hours is good.. Are you planning to eat there too? When you're browsing it's probably easier to wear; it gets crowded on weekends!

@MrsBrewer: They have a whole dining room! Super cheap food. Swedish meatballs! Oh and join Ikea family! You can get special pricing on things, and get a free coffee/tea! And they usually have a concession stand by the exit where you pay... $1 icecream, hotdogs, $4 for cinnabons!

We just got the high chair last week and we love it! All of their baby and kid stuff is good I think.

I just got this Raskog utility cart that I love! http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/30216536/ - I'm using it to store the children's art supplies, but there are so many other ways to use it!

love the kids toys.
the dish towels are cheap and awesome.
the utility carts are great for toy and book storage. -
I always seem to walk out of Ikea with a lot more than I intended! When DD was little, I really loved all their wooden toys.
