We live 4 hours from an Ikea so it would have to be online, but what are some things you love from Ikea? Baby / kid gear, furniture, kitchen stuff etc that's made your life easier?

Not sure if it's worth making a trip for, but I do like their plastic cups for kids. Kalas, I think is the name. They are a good size for toddlers and for in the bathroom, playing with, whatever!

We have two kalax shelving units that I love, one as our TV stand and one in E's room for extra storage. E also sleeps in an IKEA crib and has an IKEA dresser. I also am a big fan of their childrens silverware and cups. We have two IKEAs within 30-45 min so we often get good priced basics for the house like frames and candles and stuff.

Definitely shelving and storage. Trofast for kids' toys, especially. We've had tables, chests of drawers, various shelving units like Kalax, never a complaint.
In general, the things that draw more complaints are upholstered furniture, beds and mattresses, though we do have an Ikea bed and mattress for my son and he's totally fine on it.

I love pretty much all their kids stuff Just a warning that we had a bad experience with their freight shipping (took 3 months to arrive). Their parcel shipping was fine, but just know to be careful if it’s something you need quickly.
Specific things we like:
Kalas plate/bowls/cups/flatware - perfect for toddlers
Mala easel and smock, chalk, etc
Duktig play food - 3 sets of fruits, veggies, etc
Masterby step stool, sturdy waterproof and tall enough for toddlers to reach faucets

@Oopdah: I was going to say this too! So simple but we’ve been using them for over three years now!

Ugh so much! I live 10 minutes from one so I go often to buy cheap house-ware/kids stuff. Furniture wise, I have multiple Kallax units, we love Trofast, and I really love Nordli collection as kids dressers. I've also bought bedding, pillows and comforters from Ikea, all were/are great!

-We have a few Hemnes dressers from there that have held up (and one that didn't b/c DS1 kept hanging on the drawers)
-The kids cups/plates/utensils everyone talks about
-The Trofast systems that people mention
-The Poang chairs are pretty comfy
-Ribba picture frames are amazing
-Sheets are really good
-Towels that we use in the guest room and for beach towels
-kids tables and chairs
-These dish towels that are like $.79. We have like 20 of them and use them for just about everything from napkins to dish drying to what you would use paper towels for
-dish brushes for the sink. Super cheap so I buy a few and toss when they're looking old
-Just walking around to get ideas on how you want to set up your rooms and storage options
I used to work by one and would sometimes just go on my lunch hour to wander. We love going now that the boys are older so that they can play in the play place for 60-90 minutes while we walk around. Win-win

One of my favorite restaurants uses the Antilop highchair. It is only $28 but seems super durable and easy to clean. I have considered getting one to keep out on our deck.
ETA: Actually it is only $23.

Skubb drawer organizers, this version with the 6 boxes: LIFE CHANGING. I have two sets for each kid's dresser, they are amazing for organizing baby clothes and diapering drawers. I use them for my underwear drawer, too, and I buy them every time I go to ikea, they are awesome add-ons to baby presents

@LemonJack: they are in my top 5 favorite home products of all time. I can't even imagine not having them, I would be so annoyed pawing through a bunch of mixed up shit with one hand and the baby in the other arm looking for clean size 6-9mo leggings in the dark or god forbid a matching pair of baby socks. and they're six bucks!

@LCTBQE: Yep. I originally bought two sets and that wasn’t nearly enough. I use them in the kids dressers, my dresser, to organize diapers, and in the bathroom for washcloths, etc. SO nice.

@LemonJack: I never thought to use them in the bathroom!! I only have them in all our dresser drawers, that is so smart!
