My in-laws just got us an instant pot and I am trying to figure what else to buy to be most successful with it. We don’t have a steamer or rice cooker now so if I want to try those functions is there anything I need to get to put in the IP? Has anyone tried the egg bites? Do you use a springform pan for anything other than cheesecake?

@autumnleaves: following! I underutilize my InstantPot. If I found a good deal, I'd be tempted to buy an extra insert. I primarily use it on the weekend for meal prep. So, I'll make a roast, then I want to toss some potatoes in right away, but don't want to deal with the roast right away because I have yet another dish I'm in the middle of prepping.
I have never made anything sweet, but the seal definitely smells like French onion soup mix so I'd recommend an extra seal just for desserts or other non-savory dishes.
Hard boiled eggs in the Instant Pot are a DREAM, but no additional accessories needed. DH and I compete who can stack the most number of eggs on the trivet without any falling through

I love having an extra insert! I got one free from a neighbor who accidentally destroyed her IP. My MIL has the ceramic nonstick one which seems like a good gift ask in the future. We use ours for rice with the regular insert and it’s so easy and great.

Yesterday I used my MIL’s glass lid for the slow cook function and it was nice to be able to see through the lid while it cooked.

I just got a silicon expandable steamer and I'm so excited for it! Now I can cut things into smaller pieces so they cook faster and not have to worry about them falling through the trivet!
