Elise is A's middle name and Paige will be this next LOs middle name, which is also my middle name...so of course I like both of those!

I like middle names to honor someone. Otherwise I don't really see the point of giving another name.

I usually look at middle names to honor someone in some way. Our girl name we have picked out has the middle name the same as DH's deceased mother and our boy name we are using for this LO has the middle name of my father.

I like honor names for the middle. That is what we did for R!

Our middle names have always been about honoring someone. Our DD has my grandmother's maiden name as her middle name, it's a family tradition. Our next child will have her uncle who passed away's name as a middle name (whether it be a boy or girl the child will are planning because it means so much to DH to honor his brother. I agree, I never met him, but think it would be sweet.)

P's middle name is honoring both my father and my paternal grandmother. But, it's not the same name as either of them (It's a variation of Stephen/Stephanie). The next baby, if we have one, will also likely have an honorary middle name.

I don't have a specific list of names that I used just for middle. We picked out all the names we liked and combined them in a way where they were pleasing to us.

My husband was adamant that our child have his own name, so we did not name him after anyone in the first or middle name position.

@Mrs. Pen: I wanted to do two middle names but DH nixed it I have a family name as a middle name and I wanted to give it to DS. I'm still kinda sad about it.

For girls, I love:

For boys, I love:
Anderson
Raphael
Vincent
Gerald
Francis

I also kind of love names of places, like Boston, Bolton, Concord, Glen, etc.

C's middle name is Bea. It wasn't chosen to honor anyone, but is technically a form of her dad's college nickname. I love it.

Mary in honor of Jesus' mom, although I would use Marie
Lee or Leigh in honor of my bff's middle name
Frank/ Frances or Franklin, Francesca in honor of my grabdparents
Christina/ Christopher in honor of my mom

All my other middle name choices are just names I likes. The ones I listed would have sentimental value.

@grizz: Fisher and Archer were both on my boy name list, but I couldn't get my husband to go for either. Thatcher was #1 on my list, though; another -er name. My husband insisted they were all last names.

We used family names. I also think middle names are a nice way of honoring someone instead of it being something random. Just my preference.
