Anyone have a favorite point and shoot they swear by and would recommend for when you can't lug around your dslr?

I love my Sony DSC-RX100. It's a great alternative to DSLRs - takes really good photos (better quality than phone photos), excellent in low light, and small enough to fit in a small purse.

Canon PowerShot g16. I like it because it has a lot of manual settings and a decently low aperture.

I use my phone mostly, but sometimes I want better quality. I'll do some reading about these options, thanks!

Lately it's phones, many of them have awesome cameras. I used to have a Samsung Galaxy that was really good, and my parents have iPhones that do well too. My current phone, an Alcatel One Touch... awful. I didn't even know they make smartphones with such bad image quality.

@Synchronicity: @erinbaderin: Is this it? https://www.amazon.com/Canon-PowerShot-Digital-Optical-Full-HD/dp/B00EFILHB4
How does it do in low light situations?

@Boogs: That's it. It's good, I think - I've been very happy with it. Here are some low light shots I took with it.
