Looking for sun hats for this summer. I have one bucket hat with a wide brim but when T runs the brim flops in his eyes. Not so good for a crash-prone 20 month old. Any favorites?

Neck flap cover + the drawstring cinch at the chin is key for me. My kids hate hats and rip them off if I can't lock it on their heads.

@gingerbebe: Thanks, this looks perfect! They haven't figured out how to pull the cinch on the chin strap yet? T loves hats, luckily, since he is still pretty bald on top of his head. O not so much and she's clever about getting things off.

Well we haven't tried on my oldest this year yet (it's just now getting warm enough in NorCal) but he couldn't last season. I'll probably knot it below the chin strap if he yanks it.

So this is a big floppy sun hat, but it cinches around the head and has a chin strap. Because of the dual cinch, we can actually put the chin strap behind C's ears and she can't get it off.

Sunday Afternoons Play Hat, hands down. It doesn't flop and is super lightweight. It's the only hat my toddler will happily wear; I think she barely notices she's wearing it. I got hers on sale, but now I'd gladly pay full price for one knowing how good it is. They sell it on their website and also Amazon and REI.

I just wanted to add that my 26 month old is still wearing the baby size. Just FYI they seem to be sized a bit large but have a thing in the back to pull it smaller. There are head measurements on their size chart to help decide.

@Mrs. Turtle: adorable hats! Which of the bones did you pick? I clicked through the links and am in the market for a new sun hat with a sturdier sort of brim the way those look.

@mrs. turtle also curious to know how you like the hats! My 20 month old needs a new sun hat (we live in Florida), but he HATES hats and many of the ones I see are just too thick and hot to wear down here.

@Mrs. Goose: @MrsADS: I love these. They are the Sunday Afternoons play hats that @Iced Tea: recommended. I got the 2-5 year old size even though they are almost too big for my 20 and 18 mo olds because I figured they'd last longer that way. So far so good. They are staying on well and provide far better coverage than anything else I've found.

@Mrs. Turtle: So glad they worked for you! I actually bought their adult ultra sport hat to wear myself!
