i don't really like the traditional xmas songs but i love it when a group/singer updates an old song. and xmas shoes - well, the lyrics just make me tear up.

Oh my gosh. The Christmas shoes song makes me cry every time I hear it.
I love All I Want For Christmas is you, like Mrs. Bee. I have a Pandora station set up tuned to that song. I also like Carol of the Bells done by Trans-Siberian Orchestra.
As for traditional songs: The First Noel and Silent Night. At Christmas Eve service last year, everyone was handed a candle. At the end of service, all of our candles were lit and then the lights were turned off. We sang Silent Night with no background music, in candlelight. It was so moving.

My favorites are instrumentals, I could listen to Manheim Steamrollers and Trans-Siberian Orchestra all day long! My favorite carol is Silent Night, at my church back home we sing it in German on Christmas Eve with candles and its my favorite tradition.

Oh my gosh, I get so emotional over Christmas songs- I hadn't even thought of how much worse it's going to be this year since I'll be pregnant during the holidays!
I love the Brian Setzer Christmas albums to listen to when we decorate the tree, and I love There's a Song in the Air for a church song.
