Tororojo: What the What? Comes to life even in a dark closet? That's so spooky! *shudder*

@MsLipGloss: Yah, I think they're supposed to be activated by motion but we kept ours hidden in the hall closet and it would start talking at random! Don't know if the new ones do that (I hope not!)--my sister and I got one maybe like 10-15 yrs ago when they first came out.

Also, I know Care Bears came up recently but I am now obsessed. I am currently watching several listings on EBay for vintage 1983 Care Bears. I'll pretend they are for my LOs!

Ok, who had one of these...I loved my Pogo Ball!

@MrsCowgirl: Jem! Loved her! And I totally forgot about Rainbow Brite! That makes me think about He Man and She Ra (I knew a girl who was *obsessed* with She Ra!).

@Mrs. Cowgirl: I loved Rainbow Brite and JEM! We had a JEM concert in my neighborhood growing up and made everyone come... @autumnlove: I still remember learning to jump on my green pogo ball.
Anyone have Garbage Pail Kids? My brother and I were obsessed!

@Mrs. Cowgirl: I got the boxed set of all Jem episodes for Christmas...it is TRULY outrageous!

@T-Mom: i totally would have come to your jem concert!! i had the jem doll and there was a switch on her back to make her earrings light up. SO cool. i also had roxy from the misfits. it always annoyed me that they couldn't wear barbie clothes and vice versa.
@autumnlove: i sucked at that pogo ball. i was, however, reasonably good at skip it. (i'm also fairly certain i had several variations of this girl's outfit).

@tororojo: @MsLipGloss: I was on a plane once after the original furby came out and it was in the (closed) overhead bin. Midway through the flight you start to hear “hey! It’s dark in here! Hey! Let me out! It’s dark!” coming from the overhead bin! haha, people were starting to freak out, and finally they opened the bin and the furby made that little shouting noise they made and was like “oooh! Light!” LOL

@Mrs. Cowgirl: I had the Jem doll and remember being disappointed at how ugly the face was...so pretty as a cartoon, not so much as a fake Barbie. And she was definitely made on a larger scale.
@yoursilverlining: Forget Chucky...what if they made a movie about killer Furby dolls? So much more realistic.

@YourSilverLining: LOL! I would totally have had nightmares.
@T-Mom: I was not allowed to have Garbage Pail Kids!
How could I have forgotten Scrunchies (inspired by the Skip It picture in @MrsCowgirl's post).

@anonysquire: We had puppy surprise, kitty surprise, and bear cub surprise. Seriously, they did one with bears. WTF? I also LOVED Magic Nursery and had a bunch of those, but I think they were 90s, too.

@MsLipGloss: Haha that's so true. Now that I think about it, my immigrant parents had no idea what they were...
And btw ladies, I am now seeing ads for Furbies pop up everywhere on HB .. scary!
hostess / wonderful watermelon / 39513 posts
@MsLipGloss: OMG! I made scrunchies and I sold them on the school bus! Lol!
GOLD / pineapple / 12662 posts
@AutumnLove: I just pictured you on a school bus in a long trench coat lined with scrunchies trying to peddle your wares.

And anyone else remember Kangaroo shoes and Members Only jackets?

@LadyFingers: I adored Debbie Gibson! Not so much Tiffany, but she was the other part to that duo (sort of like Britney and Christina).

@MrsBells: Wooot! Seeing the Walkman reminds of the scene (or montage) in Footloose where Ren is teaching Willard to dance! I always wanted a Sony Sportsman walkman (the yellow waterproof one), but I never got one.

@MsLipGloss: Haha! I always wanted a sony walkman, but my mom got me a different cheaper brand

Oh my gahhhh... This thread is out of control!!
Love, love, love Lisa Frank! I remember thinking she must be fabulously wealthy, and deservedly so.
My sisters used to "prep roll" my jeans before school. I had to keep up with them, you know?
I remember for Christmas one year, they both got these briefcases to store their cassette tapes in. They were stoked! I unravelled ALL of one sisters' tapes. I knew it was wrong, but the sound and feeling of all that tape coming out was just so satisfying. Wrrrreeee!!! I knew she wanted to murder me, but she just sobbed. I felt so bad!!
Who else had a nosey bear?

@SlightFigureOfSpeech: haha that nosey bear looks scary!! I never had one lol
