@LindsayInNYC: @fussygal: HAHA it was LITERALLY the world's quickest BD of all time. He was getting ready, I'm working (lunch break? haha) so it was a "just hop on" type situation. Ohhh the romance of TTC. Whatever the case may be I'm ECSTATIC to have seen a on my OPK!!! It's helped turn my week around a bit.

Out of curiousity, is there any other bee who actually has to use pain relievers when they are ovulating?

  4. kjpugs

    grapefruit / 4862 posts

@Beetones: that may be a main forum question... do you mean pain meds for unrelated issues, or pain from ovulation?

I still haven't gotten my surge... my body is out of whack i think... dang depo..

  6. Happygal

@LittleK: What day are you on now? Is this your first cycle off depo?

14 is quoted as the average, based on being half way through a 28 day cycle. So far my O date has been on day 16, then 14, then twice on 18.

@littlek - Not knowing how long you've been off depo but FWIW, my first cycle post-BCP was 40 days =/

Hey ladies... I'm feeling less jealous/sad and way happier about my BFF's pregnancy she's in EVERY social media I am except this... so... any ideas on cute new pregnancy related fun gifts? She's craving vinegar and pickles (YES, really!) but is a VERY healthy eater... doesn't have to be food... just trying to think of something fun to send. She mentioned that she felt horrible telling me because I'm still TTC so I want to show her how happy I am feeling for her!

@KJfromNJ: I meant pain from Ovulation

  10. kjpugs

    grapefruit / 4862 posts

@Beetones: oh my goodness... well at least you know when it happens? lol. I haven't heard of it (or had that problem) but I would ask on the main board and maybe ask your OBGYN or RE next visit?

  11. Apex

    clementine / 770 posts

@KJfromNJ: My Ob/gyn dismissed it as normal...I guess she thinks i have a low pain tolerance (Which i don't, hence the reason for my question)

@KJFROMNJ - haha your hit it and quit it cracked me up. Before TTC, I would never had guessed how unromantic doing the deed would become!

So I'm on day 6 of positive OPKs. I'm pretty sure that I can't take any more sexy time. Hoping the end is near!

So after getting my sixth day in a row of positive OPKs, I've been consulting google like crazy. I saw a few women mention that OPKs can pick up the same hormones as HPTs. I had an extra HPT at home so I decided what the heck.....

BFP!!! I'm so shocked. I must have ovulated really early this month. I just called DH and asked him to come home for lunch because I can't hold it in!

I just want to wish lots of good luck to all of you ladies as well this month.

@Mrs. Monkey: Wow, congrats!! So excited for you!

@Beetones: I have had really bad pain around O before, but it's fleeting so I haven't needed to use painkillers. However, last month was my first month on Clomid and I cramped really really bad from about CD 12 through CD 28 (AF on CD 30). It was painful enough that I took Tylenol every once in a while. I don't necessarily think that was O pain though (or at least not ALL of it was O pain, since I didn't ovulate daily for two weeks, haha).

How long do you usually have the pains? Have you always had them or are they new? I wonder if you could have cysts or something that's causing the pain?

@Mrs. Monkey: what?? Already a BFP on the February board??? Congrats!!!!!! Does that make you a Sept or Oct EDD?

  25. kjpugs

    grapefruit / 4862 posts

I think my excitement over my +OPK might be fleeting... OPK today was negative. So my only +OPK from CD8-CD19 was on CD18... not sure if this could be a PCOS-related cruel horomone joke or what. Because I thought you got usually 2 +OPK's? I was away so I only got to BD on the actual day of my +OPK... will probably BD still tonight but... well, hope that's good enough.

@KJfromNJ: do you ever look at the charts on FertilityFriend? It can be addictive. If you search the charts for people using OPKs, you'll see that some people get just one positive, while others may have four.

With a positive OPK, you don't know if you've caught the beginning, middle, or end of a surge. Length of time between your LH surge and ovulation varies for each person.

Of course, your PCOS adds a twist to it all. It's a good thing that you're keeping track and can have data to share with your doctor.

  28. kjpugs

    grapefruit / 4862 posts

@Happygal: OMG I didn't know you could see peoples' charts, gah. I might have to abstain because I am ALREADY comparing myself to others too much!!!!! Why can't I just be like my SIL and get drunk once and do it without a condom and that's that? SO Much less confusing.

i finally decided to sign up for FF and i keep forgetting to take my temp every morning.....can i still take at night? i need to remember, i need to remember ahhhhh lol

  30. kjpugs

    grapefruit / 4862 posts

@iluvpink: nope it has to be resting in the AM, like right when you wake up. Ideally you should take it in bed before you're up and moving, after I think it's 6+ hours of sleep. It's supposed to be your "resting" temp.

  31. Happygal

    pomelo / 5000 posts

@ILuvpink: @KJfromNJ is right--first thing in the morning! Ideally after 3-4 hours of uninterrupted sleep. Some people's temps change very quickly, meaning even talking can raise their temps. I keep my thermometer on my bedside table. It quickly becomes a habit. On days you miss taking your temp, remember that you can still check other fertility signs, like CM and cervical position.

You can start experimenting to see how quickly your temp changes. For example, take you temp first thing, then get up to use the bathroom, move around, then take your temp again. I realized I can do do a bit of activity before mine rises (yeah!)

Also, if you have specific questions about charting, check out the "Charter of the Hive!" thread. It's recently been quiet, but the women over there are really knowledgeable and will answer your questions quickly.

@twodoghouse: Funny enough, i've always had the cramps for as far back as i could remember. I just never knew they were ovulation pains until i started TTC.

I've had an HSG in the past, and there were no noticeable cysts. then again, i always have horrid cramps, so maybe its just me?

@doxielove: I'd love to join you ... and I'm hoping we all get BFP this month. It is the month of LOVE, after all!!

    Current Cycle Day: CD 5

Ovulation Date: FF says 2/5, but I think it'll be the 3rd or 4th. Using OPK & charting for the first time this month.

POAS date/Usual Cycle Length: Waiting until missed AF (the 24th of Feb). Cycles are 33 or 34 days.

Cycles trying: This will be our 4th.

BD timing: 3 times each week, and EOD during O week.

Plans for Valentine's Day this year: We decided we'd go out for the first time in 7 years. It might be our last v-day without a little one, so we're going to go-big!

Good luck ladies!!! Hoping Feb is a great baby month for all of you!!

@Mrs. Monkey - OMG so exciting!! CONGRATS!!!

@littlek - I went off BCP after December's period (mid-December). My first cycle ended up being 40 days. I hear things can be even more out of whack post-depo though =/

  36. Happygal

    pomelo / 5000 posts

@VegMama: welcome! I think you'll like charting. I'm on cycle 4, too, although this is my first time NOT temping in the TWW. Mainly b/c I use FertilityFriend, and once you ovulate, they start telling you your chances of being pregnant and all sorts of stuff. Once my temps drop, I have a sad feeling until my period starts. Would rather just not know and try not to think about it!

  37. fussygal

    pomegranate / 3580 posts

@happygal I'm thinking about not temping during the TWW this time, too. Last time was just too rough watching my temps drop and becoming obsessed with them.

FF says I O'd three days ago, but I don't think I did. The past two months I always get a temp rise early, but then a real O a week or so later.

@KJfromNJ: snap on the positive OPK thing, down to the PCOS uncertainty as well. Wouldn't it be a laugh if we both got our BFP this cycle from really unromantic BD? Hubby is still sick!

  40. kjpugs

    grapefruit / 4862 posts

@SweetMamaM: it would be fine with me! I've gotten an (i think) innacurate +OPK but at like CD8... I stopped testing with them by like CD15 after that, thinking it was legit. I'm hoping it's accurate! but since it was neg today who knows. DH works such long shifts that we would only BD mostly on his days off if he had his way, so we've bickered about all the lovely "EVERY OTHER DAY" stuff and he asked me to write it down for him. Talk about romance!!! hahahahaha. I should promise him favors once he knocks me up haha, that might motivate.
